It's usually because, for the time, it represented a high point in transformation capability. And as the toyline is all about that particular gimmick, for a very long time it was kind of seen as the Transformers' Transformer.

Quickswitch didn't garner the same fan following, partially because it was seen as a clunkier toy with no real advantages (except perhaps compactness and elbow articulation). There were no further challenges until RiD Megatron, and that was a very different aesthetic - the very curved surfaces were more of an alternative to the G1 brick design than a quantum improvement, even if it had significantly better articulation. Adding additional modes didn't change people's opinions much. And there hasn't been a challenger since then.

Compared to modern toy designs, Sixshot is indeed showing its age. However, there's nothing really about its transformations and altmodes which couldn't be brought up to spec with some more posing joints and perhaps an additional panel here and there. You could even scale it back a size class or two, stick C-joints on it, rework the rifles to form a wolf tail, and even create remolds using different animal altmodes, wheels, colors, weapons, and slightly different surface detailing. It's massively tweakable - the wings could be tinkered with more than the Seeker molds, there's plenty of room for different types of heads, you name it.

I must say even that he is expensive, he's pretty worth it, besides if you still looking for the vintage, you'll pay much more then that, and I chosen him to buy because, the vintage one isn't cheap, and I never had the chance to get a Sixshot anyway, so for me, it was the right time in the right place.

If you are talking about BRAND NEW, of course the vintage one will be way too expensive. But I think the purpose is to play with the thing so the box become irrelevant.
So, a loose but perfect condition Six Shot is worth LESS than 100$ SHIPPED. That's the price I paid mine.

If I know my basic mathematics, less than 100$ for a vintage is CHEAPER than a 130-150$ reissue PLUS shipping.

Ah ok, no I'm no MISB Collector, but I really don't like collect Loose Transformers so normally I can wait until they'll be reissued again like Fortress Maximus.
