Weapon: Shoulder Mounted Rocket Launcher
Maybe he went into some kind of stasis/hibernation like G1 Skyfire(twice), or Movie-verse Megatron?

A] The [comics] Galvatron that Fort Max trew into the lake was Galvatron 2.We really dont know how powerful he was.

Also, the comic came to an end soon after, so we dont know if he would have come back.

B]If you follow the manga comics, The Galvatron in the Headmasters cartoon did return and was turned into Super Megatron

Galvatron in the comics was just as strong as his cartoon counterpart. Honestly, when I read it I thought it a bit unrealistic (in TF standards anyway) that Maximus could do that to him, especially since Tank Megatron discarded Max so easily in G2. Anyway, I think he just went into stasis or some sort of shut down after massive damage and freezing temperatures in both situations. If the comics had continued, he most likely would have returned. Actually, I was hoping he'd return in G2 and have a showdown with Tank Megatron and/or Jhiaxus. Would have been a devastating confrontation.

No.

Comic Galvatron, meaning the one from the UK marvel books, was far stronger then his cartoon counterpart.

Now, the Galvatron in question here is Galvatron 2, and how strong he is isint really known.

Sorry dude but your flat out wrong.

Cartoon Galvatron had a hard time holding his own with Ultra Magnus or Rodimus Prime.

Comic [UK] Galvatron took on and pretty much beat the combined forces of Both the Autobot&Decepticon armys of 2 errors, the Wreckers, the Mayhem attack squad and 2 Primes.

He was in a quite a few issues, his strength was demonstrated sufficiently.

Gal2 had a hand full of appearances, which hardly show cased any strength at all.

Hardly? I'm not sure if we're talking about the same character. I am referring to the one Unicron "plucked" from an alternate time line by Hook, Line and Sinker in the US comics. I've never read the UK comics nor do I have any desire to. Any comic citations I have (which are always correct) are from the US Marvel comics.

Okay to get a couple of things clear:

1. Galvatron I does appear to be far stronger then Galvatron II. Though it should be noted that Galvatron II's defeat was after Unicron was destroyed. So he couldn't power up to whatever strength level he desired. Also note that he took a pounding from Unicron.

2. Galvatron I is the Galvatron that initially appeared in the UK comics (Target 2006). Galvatron II is the Galvatron introduced for the US comic (Rhythms of Darkness).

3. Galvatron II was supposed to return in the G2 comics at some point:

5. Moving on to Generation 2, what further plans did you originally have for it beyond the 12 issue arc? Would Jhiaxus still have met his end in issue 12?

Oh yeah. Jhiaxus was only ever meant to be a one-arc character. I continually wanted to shift the focus and scale of the saga, and I didn’t want to keep running with non-toy characters to the extent where Hasbro might kick up a fuss. The next story arc would have been something like ‘Alignment’ turned out to be, though whether I’d have wrapped the Liege Maximo story in the next 12-issue chunk is debatable. I definitely wanted to keep upping the scale and scope of the threat. I do remember having Galvatron very much in mind to be the wild card in whatever happened next.

Full interview can be seen here:
http://transfans.co.uk/interviews_furman.php

4. Headmasters Galvatron was deactivated in the ice till Dark Nova restored him as Super Megatron (Battlestars).

In short, Galvatron never really died in any of those stories.

So thats the totality of your argument??

I provided evidence that backs my case, you have provided nothing but your opinion.

Hardly? I'm not sure if we're talking about the same character. I am referring to the one Unicron "plucked" from an alternate time line by Hook, Line and Sinker in the US comics.

Yes, thats Galvatron 2.

And I repeat, we hardly saw enough of him in action to gauge how powerful he is or can get.

What did we really see......we saw the "future story", which BTW, the fact that he took over North America, took out most of the Autobot Army and presumable some of the US army, and killed the most powerful of the Primes , Rodimus Prime,of his alternate Universe is pretty much proof positive that he's stronger/smarter then his cartoon counterpart.

Cartoon Galvatron never even came close to anything like that.

We then saw him plotting and scheming to wake Primus.

He fought some of the Unicron cult.He fired one shot at Unicron.

Then 1 fight with Megatron and then one with Fort Max.No less both fights take place after Unicron was dead, which would weaken his ability to draw power as needed.

Thats it.

Hardly enough to make any real conclusions as to how powerful he was or could get.

I've never read the UK comics nor do I have any desire to.

You should, their pretty good.

Any comic citations I have (which are always correct) are from the US Marvel comics.

Your facts might be correct, but not the conclusions your drawing from them.

You didn't provide much evidence yourself other then "it happend in the UK comics".
Providing people with issue names, pagescans and links will help. Instead you yourself respond with the same "you are wrong, I am right" answer that Rodimus provided.

Rodimus Prime doesn't have the material available that we have. Most Transformer fans didn't even know that the UK comics existed till this knowledge became available on the internet.

His conclusions based on the material available are as valid as your own.

That's a pretty bold statement, you yourself aren't exactly a legitimate authority to judge if someones conclusions are or aren't correct. I've noticed you doing this a few times in the fantasy battles thread but didn't want to comment about this.

You can't simply pass of your own opinions as being the only right ones.

There is a difference between what and how we both posted.

I cited verifiable evidence, that if he addressed in an argument, I would have replied with issue numbers, scans, dialog.

Be he didnt address the info cited, he just said "NO" and left it at that.
His conclusions based on the material available are as valid as your own.

I'm not sure I would agree with that either.

He conclusion was that there was enough info about the character, based on his appearance, to gauge how powerful he was or could become.

And I dont see how anyone can really say that.

Gal2 had a handful of appearances, and most of which he wasnt in much action at all.

That's a pretty bold statement, you yourself aren't exactly a legitimate authority to judge if someones conclusions are or aren't correct. I've noticed you doing this a few times in the fantasy battles thread but didn't want to comment about this.

Its not an opinion that the character had a limited amount of appearances.

Its not an opinion that in his few appearances he did more talking then action.

Its not an opinion that there isint enough info about the character and his abilities.

Ok. wow. I feel like I now know NOTHING about this replacement for Megs. Which is all I ever considered Galvatron to be. No matter who is "right" on this matter, you have all opened a new chapter, for me, in regards to this character. I simply read a funny topic and dropped in. I had no idea this guy had such a history. Thanks for sharing. Truly.

sto_vo_kor,

I have my view of the character and his abilities. Your view may differ from it, and that's the way it is. I don't have to agree with you. You don't have to agree with me, nor can you say I'm wrong. That's why it's called an OPINION. But your arrogant responses of "No" and "Hardly" and stuff like that are not very friendly and will most likely result in the same type response, which you have gotten from me. Point is, you need to learn how to have a conversation in a friendly manner. You may mean well, but some of your posts are downright rude.

Everyone else, thank you for participating. We probably all learned something from sto_vo_kor's vast knowledge.

My intent was never to be rude, if it came off that way I'm sorry.

I do most of my posting durring my dialysis treatments, the pain makes me quite uncomfortable and some times it reflects in my posting style.

As for the rest, I didnt just respond with "NO" and "Hardly".

I followed both up with veritable information.

Information which you just to disregard by simplely saying "YES" or "NO, your mistaken" , so I find it a bit ironic that your saying I came off as arrogant.

Also keep in mind that my claim was that there wasnt enough info about the character to come to a solid conclusion about the characters full abilities.

You claim there was more then enough info to make a judgment, but so far you havent showed me how its enough.

Now, maybe I do need to take more notice of what I post and how it may be read, but I would suggest you do as well, because to reply to a possible un-friendly, possibly rude post with more of the same is just as wrong.
