Warner Bros. announced today that the final Harry Potter book will be split across two movies to ensure as little is missed out of the book.

After the nasty split with my ex fiancee', who was a huge harry potter fan, I don't think I ever want to see another movie of it again.

ohmy! That's just loaded with YAY! I loved all the books and the movies were not too bad..couldn't possibly have fit all the goodies from the books into a movie and keep it under 5 hrs long! I am glad they are splitting Hallows like that....less chance to miss something......sadly, it's more chance to muck it up though.....

....will take a wait-and-see stance!

Gotcha. There were seven books, right? So that means 2 movies (well, 3 now, I guess) till the end...? I got the figures right? 8-}

Never a fan of Harry Potter. I was never interested in the concept, but I did see the first two movies. First one was decent, but the second one I got bored with about halfway through.

Not a big fan of the movies (especially after the crud that the third one was), but I think splitting the final book into 2 is a good idea, storywise, as well as moneywise.

There are alot of action sequences in book 7 that will take a huge portion of the films, plus if the 5th film is anything to go by, the first film of book 7 may be needed as a "catch-up" to fill in all the elements that are important to future books that were skipped in book 5 to keep run time to a level where the Attention Deficit Disorder kids could tolerate it.

Seems like a bad idea- the final book was badly paced as is, and making it two movies so as to get in all the detail is silly. A lot of the detail and twists refer to bits and bobs that were once thought to be irrelevant, and so were cut out of previous movies.

I've never read any of the books but have seen all the movies some at the theater or when they get released on DVD. They were entertaining and i enoyed them some more than others. I'm sure eventually i'll see the new ones.

I guess they didn't get better after the second from what I hear. Still, more people are excited about these movies than, I think, Star Wars or just about any other high-profile series of the last few years.

i_amtrunks, if you don't use "Awesomesauce" in HMW, I will have to de-gonad you. That word has many levels of cool.
