According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office Hasbro has applied for a new Transformers: Robots in Disguise trademark. We say new, because the previous RID trademark is still active. Paper goods and printed matter, namely, children's activity books; comic books; coloring books; notebooks; composition books; picture books; children's story books; books containing puzzles and games; instructional manuals and printed strategy guides for games; book covers; arts and crafts kits for painting and drawing; invitations; lunch bags; paper table cloths; trading cards; writing pads; posters; book marks; non-electronic personal planners and organizers; artist materials, namely, pencils, pens, sketchbooks; gift wrap paper; paper gift tags; paper gift bags; paper gift boxes; correspondence note paper; greeting cards; paper party decorations; paper napkins; paper ribbons; paper party bags; paper party hats; postcards; stickers; sticker books; calendars; temporary tattoos ; school and office supplies, namely, drafting and drawing rulers, pencils, pens, markers, binders; stationery; notepads; pencil cases; pencil sharpeners; desk pads and stationery sets comprised of paper, envelopes, seals, notepads; stencils; printed children's books featuring electronic sound buttons; patterns for making costumes; activity kits containing stamper markers, rubber stampers, ink pad, colored pencils, stamper holder; crayon and color by number kits containing crayons and coloring books; series of fiction books in the field of entertainment and science fiction

Toy vehicles and accessories for use therewith; toy action figures and accessories for use therewith; toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms

Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of motion pictures, ongoing television programs and television game shows, and an animated television series; educational and entertainment services, namely, ongoing programs in the field of children's entertainment accessible by television, satellite, radio, audio, video, electronic media and computer networks; providing news and information in the field of children's educational activities and entertainment; entertainment services, namely, providing online computer games and interactive multiplayer online games via global networks; fan club services; entertainment services in the nature of competitions in the field of entertainment trivia; providing computer databases, information and websites, all featuring audio entertainment, visual entertainment and audiovisual entertainment in the field of education and entertainment via global computer networks; entertainment services, namely, the production of DVDs and soundtrack albums

Based on the news from Toy Fair, this seems to be for the new line of simplified toys, as they said that "Generations" would cover everything for "Ages 18 and Up" crowd while "Robots in Disguise" would be for the "Ages 4 to 10" (and "Rescue Bots" for "Ages 2 to 4").

I was afraid of that. I mean. Rise of the Dark Spark looks really good, but I had hoped for a sequel.

If there were to have been a sequel, I could imagine two possiblities:

A game starring the Wreckers, Dinobots, and a small handful of others fighting off the remaining Decepticon forces led by Shockwave.
A game featuring the Ark-based Autobots on the run from the Decepticons, going to different colony worlds such as Velocitron and Junkion, in search of the AllSpark and the Artifacts of the Primes.

We already had a show called that. The name refers to the selection of simplified toys for the ages 4-10 crowd.

We also already had two toylines by that name so I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro decided to further confuse things. :lol:

You're not thinking of the Transformers Prime: Robots in Disguise line are you? Cuz the "Prime" part of that title makes all the difference.

You're not thinking of the Transformers Prime: Robots in Disguise line are you? Cuz the "Prime" part of that title makes all the difference.

Yes I was, because while it did have the 'Prime' headline it still caused some confusion on the boards before people adopted the 'PRID' identifier. Younger fans who weren't really familiar with the original Car Robots/Robots in Disguise line were content to just call it RID at first.

Plus, we now have an IDW comic called Robots in Disguise so I don't think Hasbro really cares if reusing the name causes any mixups and I'm really not surprised they're using it for a toyline again.

Not that I can blame them, it is the whole premise and original tagline, after all.
