I also love that dragstrip! very nicely done.
I have to say though (and it's not a bad thing,) he reminds me of bubbles from trailer park boys!
Wow there is an Idea! kinda like the SWTF's ricky bubbles and julian that transform into trailers!

Hahaha, it does doesn't it? I should probably shave the visor a bit so it sits a little closoer to the face.
Although it would be a good movie tie-in, bashing trailer park boy-formers is a little past my skill level.

Dragstrip in comic book colours:

Top pics are with flash and it hilights every flaw in my paint technique. (If I didn't buy a camera with macro focus, everything would have been fine.
)
I also just realized, Swindle's head won't fit in the scion in vehicle mode. (Guess I could mod it some more into Wild Rider. But, I don't think I can do a convincing Breakdown from Skids. I'll have to think about that one a bit more.

Problem of scale
Ok, I'd been wanting to get back to this for awhile. Stopped into Zellers today and saw the new Jada models are finally out up here. Picked up a couple, but ran into this bit of dissapointment when I got home.

Did Jada just screw up the scale (says 1/24 on the box) or is the charger really this huge?
I actually feel pretty stupid for not noticing this in the store. It's longer than the Dodge ram extended cab I picked up with it. I've almost picked up the yellow one a few times from ebay. That would have really sucked if it had the same problem.
I'm going to start on a reshell one of these days...

I would have to say that the Charger is that huge. The new Dodge Charger, like the new Mustangs and new Cameros were designed to harken back to their incarnations of the muscle car era of the ’60s and ’70s, and the Chargers of that era were huge. Look at the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard for example. So, no, I don’t think Jada made any mistakes. The Charger is just a monster car.

Ok, I was in Sears today and looking at a 1:24 jada R/C charger, and while significantly bigger, it didn't dwarf most cars like this one does at the same scale. It's wider and nearly as tall as Alt prime. Rolling on scale 32"s as well.
I'll have to have another look when I go back to the Zellers. They had a black R/T charger from another Jada line, see if its the same size.

I've been putting off working on things for awhile, but hopefully I'll get back into it soon. Just trying to decide if I should start with another repaint, or give my 1st reshell a go?
I've started a couple other minor things in the meantime:

They all need a bit of work. Not sure if the 1st one is going to be a mace, hammer or axe, but it needs a better looking head. 2nd, a grappling hook which needs a line back to gun body. More on the barrel later. 3rd is a hatchet, just need to carve it a bit and glue it to the handle.

Discovered this one after someone had posted they'd used a prowl nighstick for a windcharger barrel. Bionicle connector bits fit perfectly in there as well. I should drill a hole through it for a pin, I'm just a bit worried it will crack because its too narrow. A bit of epoxy down the top and bottom groove would prevent that I suppose.
Now I just have to get back to working on bots to give these weapons to...

Another bump to the old thread. Things are moving slowly along. I have a few more heads in progress.

You can probably guess who the 1st is. Actually changed what I had planned when I saw clay's version of the character using this head.
2nd head is motormaster. I might have gone too dark with the purple on the face.
Wildrider is a bit of a departure, but I think it'll look cool once its done.
Lastly, anyone have sugestions for Breakdown's eye colour?
On another note, I'm working on some body mods for Jazz, to get my feet wet for reshelling.

I went a bit dremel happy carving the front end, but hopefully the end result still turns out ok.

Put wildrider's head on his body to see how it fits.

Hehe and of course I miscalculated again. It won't fit through the hole in the hood. Can't really see his eyes either so the beast eyes still stand out, even tho I painted them black.
I don't know why, but I was picturing G1 Dead end while thinking about colours (Guess I can blame alt dead end for that). Ignore the door, just testing some clear paint. Hmmm, but I might go with red, don't know how grey would look on a jeep? See if I can find a top as well.
Plus, I've been doing some more work on jazz's upgrades.

Had a little setback with jazz, cracked the putty on the front end while trying to put the lights back in. Gone back to doing some painting in the meantime.
Tweaked my wildrider head so it fits now. Gotten started on his paint job as well.

Laid it on a little think in places, but hopefully it dries ok. Rear quarter panels and some touch-ups still to do. Then I get to see if I can put it back together properly.
