Part of the problem is that the way he had the Longhaul/Demolishor figure transformed ( It looks like he basically has it in straight truck mode) makes for a very compressed torso. That, in conjucntion with the long legs, screws up the proportions. If he were to transform longhaul so that the dump bed was verticle, and use shorter thighs, it would improve the model immencely. The length of the armsd is fine. The problem with the arms themselves is the shape of the forearms. They need to be thinner around the cuff and thicker by the elbow.

It's really hard to get the right proportions. I would have liked it if he didn't have giant forearms that were separate parts, but it looks like that's what you'll have to do. You could maybe use the legs from the arm bots, but then his arms would be really thin. too bad they can't all be larger bots.

Basher, those proportions are much better than the one you posted being made by Primus001. I noticed you attached the arms from a Cyberton Optimus Prime to your Quickmix model to make Mixmaster. Very interesting.. As far as the arms go, I don't see a problem in using the two robots' legs to make up the forearms. Yes, it will make the arms thinner from from the front, but arms aren't supposed to be super huge around anyway. However, if you are looking to make him look as much like G1 Devastator, you will have to make separate forearms and hands.

I don't know if you have considered it or not, but for the arms try using their legs as arms instead.

Edit: Looks like Tramp bet me, I always thought of this since I saw the Devestator fig created by the other member.

zfor a character like Devastator, that wouldn't be that far off base. He has the personalty of an ogre already. Resembling one wouldn't hurt any.

This is looking absolutely amazing. I almost want to do one of these myself, but I don't think I could do it any better. The only thing I don't like, and it's nothing that you can help, is Scavenger's leg design. I'd want to change it heavily. Anyhow, keep up the great work!

The arm does look rather ape-ish like you mentioned earlier but it doesn't hide the fact that this guy looks freaking great. Are you gonna paint all the individuals Dev green? Love that chest plate!

It looks great.

This is better than Hasbro's Classics Devastator.

This is my favorite Dev-bash to date. It looks like what I would want to do if I ever bashed Devastator. Using bots from different series is what it's all about. NOW HURRY UP WITH THE PAINT! please

This is unbelievable stuff. The Classics Autobots don't stand a chance...

Do you intend to make the individual robot modes resemble the G1 characters more?

like primusq001's dev, the lower arms and thighs do transform... but instead of carrier platforms, mine combine and transform into a drill tank...

ok, now you have my attention. That's the one thing that usually bugs me about improved combiners, the fact that you have so much kibble that just lays around when they're not combined. I love the whole drone idea, and that it still fits in with construction vehicles. That just leaves me asking only two things, 1)what happens with the big head, and 2) where do the big hands go?

Nice work indeed.

It's only just clicked that Mixmaster is actually a combination of Quickmix and Cyb Prime. How have you pulled that off? All the pics we've seen so far have shown the left leg head on, so I can't see how it goes together.

1)the big head hides underneath the chest armour when in drilltank mode.
2)Here's where the fists go...
Image
thats why the lower arms are so big... to hide the fists and drill bits... unfortunately the drillbits arent able to spin... my skills arent that good

thanks...
actually I posted the pics on another forum forgot to post it here...

anyway here are the pics...

Will find something to fill up the empty space just behind the cab...
Image

this is how the robot mode look like... consider Quickmix is so flat, the cab made the legs look very bulky... but who cares... Im gonna leave them as phrase2 mode...

I'm loving the drill tank even more now I know what's gone into it. That's ingenious.
Is the sword gonna store?

basically the blade can be dettached... the main body of the sword can still be stored back onto Longrack's right arm...

Ok maybe some of you guys here might already seen it over at Tfans. But just to share with the rest here at Transtopia. :)

It has been awhile since I last updated my Devastator. Anyway here is it. Only 85% completed. His right leg still need some modifications and painting. Somebody asked me so which series would I catagorise my Dev. Cybertron? Classic? I think I will create my own series. "Transformers - Heavy Metals War" . So there you have it. My Heavy Metal Devastator.
