Homage to Weaving in Matrix?

Postby Bonecrusher27 » Fri Nov 02, 2007 10:00 pm

During the ultimate battle between Prime and Megatron, around when Prime saysa "One shall stand, one shall fall", we see the road split and cratered, with water dripping into the bottom of the crack. Remind anyone of that last scene between Neo and Smith, rain dripping everywhere in similar surroundings?

Just two things I wished:

1. A better, more heroic shot of Prime saying "One shall stand, one shall fall" instead of on Sam, and
2. Megatron replying with "Why throw away your life so recklessly?"

Weapon: Diffraction Sword
Yeah, I would have loved to hear Megatron say "Why throw away your life so recklessly?" or "I'll crush you with my bare hands!"

I would've just prefered the camera focus on OP and Megs rather than Sam hiding in the trench. Would've been a lot cooler to actually see Megatron throw Prime.

I was waiting on Megatron to make a comment about the battle in the city being the "last alliance of men and Autobots".

Wait... wrong Weaving trilogy.

Or maybe a few shots of Optimus hitting Megs rather than being his punching bag? Yes, I'm STILL mad that Optimus was pwnd so hard. Grrr. :-x

I too noticed the "hero in a ditch" shot. But guys, c'mon! what about Smith's, er, I mean Megatrons speil on the roof to Sam:

"Is it Courage or Fear that compels you fleshling

I would have liked to see Priem sayign the line, instead of hearign him and seeing Sam.
As for the reference to The Matrix, if it was there, I do not think it was intentional, since I'm pretty suer Weavign wasn't cast till after princeple filming was done.

Oh, there was some of that. Too bad the camera was focused on Blackout walking down the street with his buzzsaw at the time :?

Well maybe they'll release another version on DVD later on with alternate scenes where we see Optimus saying "One shall Stand...."

Bay could go back at anytime and make that scene... probably solid computer graphics...wouldn't have to be any people in the shot....I dunno, I'm just pulling stuff out of the air

I absolutely love that line. But the one that gives me goosebumps everytime I hear him command it?

"De-cep-ticons....AH-TACK!!"

I love that part. I know he says it offscreen. (*seems to be a pattern there, good lines said offscreen*) But everytime I get to that part I just hope, maybe, maybe this time,....he'll just squish that little annoying fleshling, grab the cube, and rule the world!!

Eh, guy can dream I guess. I still watch The Perfect Storm and hope, maybe this time things will be different, lol.

Since they ran out of budget for the CGI, my guess is they had to use offscreen comments for additional TF dialogue without having to animate the models. Editing a recorded line into a scene shouldn't be so expensive.

I wanted Megatorn to have Prime by the throat on the ground, and say:

I would have waited an eternity for this.

One of the better lines from the '84 movie.
In this land we have defended,
From all things dark and cruel,
Now we are defenseless
In a land where dragons rule!

Me, Grimlock, BADASS!!!!
