I would assume from your posts that you are somewhere between 8 & your teens. That being said, I say this: Yeah, it sucks when parents do that. But untill you get old enough & move out, they're the law, as someone has already pointed out. For the most part, that is usually for your own good, & they're just trying to help you grow into something you all can be proud of... however parents are still human, & make mistakes, & opinions differ from person to person. What you see as important, she may see as trivial & wasteful, & maybe one day when you're a parent with a kid begging for toys you will too. I try my best to make sure my kids aren't missing out on toys they just really, really want, but sometimes they have to wait, & sometimes I see they don't need it even if they are rather passionate about getting it.
But one thing I would say about the situation: stop bugging her about it. Unless she just has a bad habit of caving in (& maybe even then), you're just making things worse. The average parent has to deal with their children crying & throwing fits to the point that eventually they stop showing sympathy for those fits, & where once they saw a pitiable state of helplessness, they see a kid being unreasonable that just needs to grow up.
My parents did the same thing when I was little. I had an original Optimus Prime for a few years...wore it out. The trailer was broke, hands were missing, scratched-up, scuffed-up, not even fit for spare parts. & ThenI saw a comercial for Powermaster Prime. I wanted it so badly...& then one day I saw it at the store, asked my mom about it...I believe it was only $20. Her response(& anybody that has seen both & how different they are know how much BS this answer is):
"You already have an Optimus Prime, you don't need two."
.....but after I got older, got married, & got my own disposable income, I now have no less than 30 different Optimus Prime figures, including the superior-to-original Hasbro reissue Powermaster Optimus Prime w/ Apex Bomber. My mom still dosen't approve & thinks every toy I get is a waste of money....but then again, it's my money to waste & I don't have to answer to her anymore. Someday you'll be there, too, but untill then don't bug your parents too much....you're just making your time under their roof more irritating for you both.
