Heres my opinion on the matter. (interlaced with actual facts) :P

The PS3 is an overly expensive piece of crap. It no longer has any exciting exclusive games (apart from MGS4), its controller is a total load of shite as well and clearly rips off the Wii's main gimmick and just like the Wii adds nothing new to the experiance.

Not to mention its useless online interface that forces you to jump through endless hoops just to play with the few people online that are playing motorstorm.

Its hardware is inferior to the 360s, yet it is twice as expensive. So you get Blue-Ray...so what? Most people dont even have HD tv's yet so who cares? Such a format, if it does well, wont be, nor is even needed for at least another 4 years or so since games developers and film studios dont even use up all the disc space a regular dvd carries so blue-ray is an expensive overkill and a waste of money.

All the greatest games these days are going multiplatform, so there really is no need to buy a PS3 for its handful of exclusive, average games unless of course you have too much money and no sense.

Best choice out there for the casual gamer, and the hardcore gamer is the 360. Its affordable, its hardware is reliable for the most part(the PS2 still remains the most unreliable console, so the 360 isnt as bad as people make it out and you DO get a years manufacturers(sp?) warrenty with it anyways) and it has a ton of great and exclusive games and not to mention that many of the multiplatform 360 games that are also out on the PS3 look and play better on the 360.

And unlike Sony the 360 doesnt FORCE you to change formats and use Blue-ray, and if you wanted to you can buy an add-on HD-DVD drive for the 360, and if you want the extra space a 120GB HD-D.

And then last but not least, theres Xbox live, the BEST and most popular online console gaming network EVER created, a system that Sony can never hope to even hold a candle to with their current online set up.

So, here are the facts:

360 is cheaper than PS3, has more superior games, has more powerful hardware and it doesnt cost you your right kidney to buy it.

Now that sounds like a fanboy rant, but im not a fanboy. I just know my facts, and i have been gaming since i was a little kid. I love the PS2 and PS1 and PSP, i grew up on PS1 games, i loved Sony. But this PS3 of their is just one big slap in the face to its fanbase and most gamers out there. They have ruined their franchise and it just keeps going down hill every day with more and more units warming shelves accross the globe.

1st While I'm not a fanboy of any particular system I will say the following Gran turismo is the [ARGUABLY] the greatest racing SIM on any console. with that said I think you guys are confusing Gran turismo HD with GT5. I bought a TV in anticipation of something with 1080p capabilities But I'll be Damned that I pay $600.00 for something That's primary function is to play video games. I walked into Gamespot the Other day as someone was talking about the PS3 and I said the same thing, they said they wanted one because they Had a PSP. I mean what do you expect it to do Put good games on the PSP.

Yes the very argueably indeed, since GT is soooo realistic that you can bounce off walls at 100 MPH and take no damage, where as every otehr racing sim has full damage modelling on the cars forcing you to actually drive properly.

That's why Burnout Revenge is awesome. Not totally realistic, but at least you've got realistic damage when you hit the wall at 200MPH.

I've only played PGR2. But even that kicked GT4's ass.

Oh man you are missing out on a gem of a game! PGR3 is the sex! Toca Race Driver 3 is better than GT4 even.

PGR does not have all the tracks or cars as GT and Burnout get tired fast and dont get started on TOCA now I havn't played Forza 2 but Forza 1 looks like crap now all this is one persons opinion But GT3 was one of the PS2's top selling games.

Indeed it was, but they still suck. They have become so realistic that they are now boring. And without any damage modelling, its no longer the most realistic driving sim, since bouncing off a wall at 100mph with no damage is hardly realistic and just allows for sloppy driving. Now Toca, PGR3 and the lieks force you to drive properly or your car will sustain damage, and Toca even gives you mechanical damage as well as the cosmetic stuff.

Colin McRae Dirt looks to beat GT's ass even further with its levels of realism and damage modelling. Its not just all about cars, its about fun, how you drive those cars and how fun it is to crash them.
