As an aside, if IDWverse is ending/rebooting/whatever does that mean they will finally release Legacy of Rust?

No I think Primus is still unicrons equal and given similarities, I have a hunch primus is cybertron (or they could do a reverse prime TV show and have earth be primus...would be interesting) Also in IDW junkions are there own thing unconnected to autobots. Besides I was just listing all the factions used in all of tf history, also there is beast wars: uprising which has the maximals and predacons existing the same time as autobots and Decepticons till the animal factions rise up against the old order.
Now the matrix maybe the key to defeating Unicron (I doubt IDW would end this with bad guys win, good guys will win but...at what cost? Also their winning move could be something dimensional based, hence a reboot so they know they'll survive but don't know the consequences)
Finally the primes will play into the combat with Unicron, as will everyone else all else fails they can just get all the tfs that turn into fighter craft to go and bomb all exhaust ports they see
as I said Unicron will be defeated one way or another

It would be far more interesting if Unicron did win. However God-Bot Prime will probably throw a Spirit Bomb at him, containing the energy of every Optimus Fanboy that still keeps him in IDWverse, years beyond relevance

Spirit bomb? Nah prime will perform potara fusion with Primus and then unleash the 100x big bang matrix kamehameha

You are confusing Gender with Sex.
They are not the same thing. The Transformers have never been SEXUALIZED.
No, there's no confusion. I go by what I was taught through education, not the recent Newspeak of the last couple years. Of which I take no interest in the current fads and superficial hashtags of social media.
But I digress...
How is that Not sexualised????? Or the emphasis on the accentuation of hips, chest and lipstick of G1 Arcee?
Just because you choose to ignore that Gender and Sex are different doesn't matter, you're still wrong. The Transformers have not been sexualized.
Black Arachnia is just one of the many problems with Beast Wars, but we aren't talking about Beast Wars are we? No, we're talking about IDW.

G1 arcee is sexualised, as are all the fembots to be fair, and again, I'll bring up kiss players...
A thought about this event, do we know if there's going to be a follow up to this? Or is this all we're getting on unicron, seems idw are keeping their cards very close to their chest.

The difference between a Free Comic Book Day issue and the series that follows it, usually, is a couple of months at least. So expect something in either June or July solicitations.

You're simply flat out wrong. Kiss Players don't even count as they are barely even a line and are a Japan only thing. The Japanese sexualize everything, they're friggin weirdos like that.

You said there was no sexualisation in transformers...kiss players proves you wrong. Now if you want to start being more speific like saying there's no sexualisation in the g2 transformers comic for example then we can agree or disagree based on the answer given.
This is irrelevant to the topic at hand. It ends now, and we go back to talking about this Unicron thing.

No idea, I think only the writers and idw truly know, but it's going to need to be a story that plays out over a few months as you can just deal with unicron in two issues... (well I guess you could but would be a waste of a build up)

I'm hoping this goes Armada style extended battle, complete with treacherous heralds, futile last stands, unlikely alliances, mental warfare, and of course: some kind of Super Optimus Prime insanity mode with a big ol gun and/or beam spam

There was no racism at all, that's a fact and you're wrong, end of story, accept it and move on.

A return of optimus maximus as he takes on an avatar of unicron inside the head of the devourer? I would be down for that

I hope this is the case! If Flatline had been more prominent I'd say he's a good candidate, but he seems to be perpetually in a "background character with a few lines a year" state.ZeroWolf wrote:it's a shame that there's currently no one taking on the role of sideways from armada, unless barber reveals there's been one in plain sight the whole time.

*rushes off to a wiki to remember who Flatline is*
okay, back up to speed. Yeah, someone of that calibre. Can't fault the writers mind for not having one as it would require very good planning skills, has it been said at what point the writers decided to bring unicron into the comics?

The earliest confirmed case of something like "thought about it, didn't do it" was the end of Dark Cybertron. That said, given the language used by OP in DoOP, I'd say they opened up the IDWverse to allow for his existence as early as that.ZeroWolf wrote:Flatline...Flatline...

My head canon only, for now: The "First Strike: Coda" story occurs immediately after Crystal City collapses into a singularity.

I need to re-read doop when I get a chance that was a great soft reboot, even if op only dropped his name for 2 years (which sounds roughly the amount of time comic book characters stay dead for on average...with exceptions of course) I think once things kick off, I am going to have to sit down and re-read everything to see if we missed any signs

I have to say that this bit from Alex Milne is something I agree with so much. As a person who likes to read but can't always focus on a lot of text this hits home. Often times comics help me bridge the gap to focusing on print books.
Milne: I personally feel it's a good way to get into reading. For some people looking at a wall of text can be a little overwhelming, while a comic book adds a visual component to the mix which can help the reader understand more of what the story is trying to communicate without having to read a description. There are also so many comics out there today for people to enjoy with a vast multitude of stories. To me, it's an underrated medium that deserves more respect than it gets. It's an excellent way to tell stories and a tradition that should be preserved.

If this doesn't sound like an end I don't know what does.
