This isn't my first convention, I've gone to a couple TransformersCons. But this is the first of this magnitude. So here are my questions:
1. Why should I book at the BotCon hotel? Is it purely about giving the fans a deal? Or is there any additional motivation, like a hotel exclusive figure or discount on the event itself?
2. Is there a airline deal too? Probably not, but I thought I'd ask to be sure.
3. There's nothing on BotCons site about registering for the event. Will that come later? And how much will it cost?
4. Should I stay for the whole thing? Is there going to be enough there to keep me entertained for a week?
5. Anything known about the convention exclusives yet? I think there was a name announced but nothing else.
I'll probably have more questions later. Thanks.
I'm looking to go to BotCon, but I've got a few questions

Moved to appropriate forum and I'll answer your questions.
1. Yes, you get a better rate and it usually is really close to the Convention Center for convenience.
2. Nope.
3. Yes, that will come later and pricing is dependant on your package. If you get the top of the line package which includes entrance fees and the Exclusive Figure Box Set, it's usually around $275
4. Depends on your interest, if you like the panels then yes. Also, most people there are pretty nice and you'll often meet people from here that you end up hanging out with...it's kind of like TF camp.
5. All we know is that they are based on the classic figures.

Got a couple more questions.
6. The customizing classes. How many of them are they doing? They said on BotCon's site they're only doing it on Thursday and attendees are limited to 25. They are doing more than 1 class right? Only 25 people out of the hundreds, or thounsands, that are attending the convention would be silly.
I forgot my other question.
Don't worry, I'll remember it eventually...

There are two customizing classes, one is figure customization, and one is diorama creation. It does appear that there are only the very few openings for them...I would think that they would have learned from the response last year that they could do much more...
Not everyone can take that much time off work so not everyone signed up will be able to go. Just so you know it was the same way last year, they did open a second Wednesday class, but with that kind of response you would think that they would do a few more over the weekend wouldn't you?
The CLASSICS exclusives idea comes from hints in the collector's club forums...dropped by the collector's club.
