I'm soooooooo pissed!

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

"You shouldn't expect him to pay it back"

"It's a toy, he's your brother, which is more important"

"Oh boo hoo" (basically)

1.) The blame rests squarely on both of them.
(He most like did have to leave in a hurry. It happens to all of us, for those of you that said otherwise...you're idiots. Next time you're forced to leave in a huff and something goes wrong, remind us to point and laugh. Ridicule works both ways you know. Yeah, he could've put 'em in his room or something, but is his brother really so stupid that he didn't look before he sat down? No. That's a load of bull. Bad timing + leaving in a hurry + idiocy on both sides = broken figure.)

2.) The apology was crap.
(I've had people say "It was an accident, why should I have to say sorry? It's not like I intentionally did it. That's why it's called an accident." Pure crapola response. If you're going to apologize, at least try and sound sincere.)

3.) It was broken when it could've been avoided, so it should be either replaced or monetary compensation should come along.
(If you break something that belongs to someone else, aren't you held accountable for it and have to pay for it? You cause a small fender bender, you're still gonna pay for it. You break a figure, you're gonna pay for it.)

4.) Yes, his brother is more important than a toy, but does his brother give him same amount of respect? I don't think so.
(This happens more often than not in a family. Siblings don't give a crap about their own flesh and blood, so reciprocation of respect certainly won't be there.)

5.) The mother's wrong. Completely and utterly wrong.
(All she's doing is teaching the one son that it's okay to be walked over and just swallow the crap that the world feeds you, and she's teaching the other one that he can do no wrong. I've seen families like that before, and it didn't work out. Their children turned into horrible adults. Horrible.)

I think a good smack in the head for all three of 'em would work wonders.

*WHAP* Be smarter with your stuff.
*WHAP* Don't break something that doesn't belong to you and you will replace it.
*WHAP* Be a better mother and a better example.

...but we're not allowed to do that. Though I surely would love to.

I admit you have a good point. Thanx for the insight. I still say he should pay for it considering he was sitting in my chair. :?

Since we are both much older now, he has come around and seen the error of his ways, and actually APOLOGIZED honestly for all of that....heck, he even REPLACED some of my more prized pieces over the years! Someday, maybe your brother will do the same!

So whatever happened? Did he replace them?

Anyways my brother has broken lots of my **** and has never apologized or repaid me for the item. When I was little I had JUST gotten the Turtle Blimp for Christmas, I loved that thing. I put it in the closet, he went into the closet looking for something and made a mess and put my blimp on the ground and stepped on it, broke the thing in half. He then told my mom "it was on the floor so i didn't see it" and I got blamed for it and never got a damn dime. So I know how it is when a brother breaks something and gets away with it.

I hate to agree with someone who broke transformers but the fact of it is as long as you share your living arrangements with others you have to be carefull where you put and store your collectibles.

Now if he had knocked it off a shelf then I say he should replace them.

I had the same issues with my original collection of toys when I was young so I put a pad lock on my bed room door.

I also moved out at a young age in part so that no one could touch my stuff. My little bro like to show off some of my real old comics to his buddies.

I'm not sure if moving out is an option for you.

Whether it's on shared furniture or not, you still pay for it if you break it.
Otherwise it would be completely alright to wait for someone to put something on the ground in town if they're tying their shoelaces or something, and then just destroy it, because it's on public property.
Now that I have TFs, I like to keep them on my computer desk. That's shared, but it's quite clear that I don't want them broken. Swindle's doors are missing, because my little brother needs to get a little respect for my things. When he gets mad at someone, he throws the nearest object at them. Usually one of my Transformers. Luckily, none have broken permanently. But I would force him to pay for it if they did.

OH, dude, I thought this whole series of events took place at the hospital. I was like, "Why in hell would you take your toys to a public place like a hospial." Okm this was all at ur house.

Oh well, take better care of where you put your toys. Take the paranoia approach, always works well.

Its not the same thing because it was not intentional. But on the other had if you put something down on the ground or any place thats considered public property and someone steped on it and it broke they would not be held legally responsible for having to pay you back in a court of law.

As a matter of fack it the person who steped on your stuff was to get hurt by it or if he triped and fell on your stuff that you put down on the ground that he could sue you for and injuries and medical cost in relation to the injuries. If he cant work he can sue you for lost income. And the guy sueing most likely will win most of his clames because it was you who's was careless enough to put your stuff on the ground.

As careless as his brother might have been he didnt break the toys on puperous. He sat down on a chair not knowing anything was on it.

Stupid he might be for not looking where he was sitting but not responcable for paying he little brother back for broken merchandise that should never have been left on a chair in a public area.

Most people dont look before they sit in most places and pretty much never in their own homes.

What you just described was your little brother acting out......for that any brother should pay for broken merchandise because it was misshandled with intent.

Thats far different then what the original poster described. His brother only sat down with the only intention was to get off his feet and place his @$$ down on a chair.

You cant tell me you dont see the differences in both your cases.

I can understand why you would be upset but a good apology is all that is needed in my mind if it happens to one of my movie figures. In my living situation, I live alone but my neighbor's 10-year old son likes to come over sometimes. I saw him messing around with one of my G1 figures (my rare Wheeljack). I told him that he can see it but be careful with it. After I explained on how expensive they are, he has been extremely careful with my collection.

In the future if you can lock where you keep your TFs and other collectibles, that probably will prevent anything like that to occur.

well, I hope your grandmother is ok.

My advice, Kill your brother, Because dropkick and longarm are 2 of the many great movie figures. I would be pissed to if i were you. And by the way, Your right. He should pay you back for them.
