Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

It Figures - it's the stupid little things that ruin a great figure

OK I'm annoyed - I'm in work and nothings working - Amazon sent me the wrong DVD today and I'm cranky after very little sleep so here's a rant about the tiny little mistakes that just ruin a figure.

Palissades Muppets figures - Floyd Pepper It's a great figure of my favourite muppet but they went and forget one important fact - Floyd is Left-Handed.

Star Wars 30th Anniversary Sandtrooper
Shoulderpad nicely dirty but where's the red?

Anyone got any more attention to detail rants to add?

You must be kidding :-x - he had ALL the best one-liners backstage and he was the only one to keep any kind of control of Animal.
Not to mention his voice (Jerry Nelson) is also Sesame Street's The Count.

Back on track though.

Justitoys WST Grimlock - those BIG eyes making Bas-ass Grimmy look cutesy SuperDeformed. (Still love the figure mind)

i really don't like TAC "jedi luke." whats up with the beach towel and (why oh why) did they go with the battle damaged hand instead of the black glove? oh yeah, and whats up with rancor/chicken bone accessory! its a real shame because he is my favorite character in all of SW history, and he can't get a decent TAC figure!

But yeah, Alternator Swindle's lack of shoulder movement really annoys the **** out of me.

My favorite muppet:

Yoda.

He counts as a muppet, don't you take that away from me! He was controlled like a muppet (For 4/6 movies!) and he had the most badass fight scene in any Star Wars movie ever. (Sorry, Darth Maul)

EDIT: Oh, and he was voiced by Frank Oz, who did Miss Piggy and Grover.

If you're talking about the Count Dooku fight, no he didn't. That was little more than a game of pinball.

Jeep? - Crazy Harry - good choice but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised! You've just gone up in my estimation again.

However the Yoda/Dooku fight - yes it was pinball but good watching pinball netherless.

Jeep? wrote:If you're talking about the Count Dooku fight, no he didn't. That was little more than a game of pinball.

Yeah, but it was the most kickass game of pinball ever. And it was so unexpected! Dooku basically goes "Okay, I'm just going to f*** up two of the best fighters in the series, kthxbye." then slow-moving, short, weak Yoda comes in, starts jumping around like freakin' Spring-Heeled Jack on Crack, and, even though he doesn't beat Dooku, he gives him a pretty good run fro his money.

But, to be back on topic: Revoltech Dante. Although the Revoltech series is manufactured from pure Awesome ore, and Dante is the best game character ever, (DMC3 was worth the stress) there were a handful of problems I found:

1. His coattails are made of really hard plastic, so no matter how you pose him, it looks like he's always in a constant breeze.

2. Also, his coattails make it hard to pose him, and he'll try to fall over at every chance.

3. The arms, oddly, don't make use of Revoltech joints, and they're difficult to get into certain poses.

The fragility of Spawn figures. I don't know what they are like now, I only collected them up to series 15. On a few of them, limbs broke off after moving them once. Some of my favorite ones have been glued back together multiple times now.

Another minor thing that irritates me is the loose joints on some of my revoltech eva figures. I still love them, but the joints shouldn't be that loose right out of the package.

Agreed on both counts. I love Spawn figures but the early series were such junk. Revoltech joints loose? Hell, right out of the package old Spawn figures could hardly stand upright. But yeah, the Revoltechs are pretty loose as well.

I haven't really had that problem, but then, I've only really bought Dante. Actually, the fact that I can pull his limbs off, and easily reattach them without any problems, actually make for cool (And often hilarious) posing. Such as "OH MY GOD YOU CUT MY LEG OFF! IT IS REALLY PAINFUL!"

resident evil 1 and 2 toys, all looked like crap and were poor figures with about 5 exceptions out of a total of about 30-40 figures.Tyrant leaked blood,Leon looked like crap,Clare's crossbow had and string attached to it and the figure itself had a dumb stance.(could rant for pages)

The zombie cop from Resident Evil is about the only figure I like in the whole line. I forgot to add the early Star Wars figures from when they started making them again. I shudder at the thought of thick plastic capes and a Leia that looks like the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Are Spawn figures better made now? I've held off buying any new ones due to my past experiences.

Back on topic....

I hate when paint apps are shoddy. (looks at Classics Starscream's head)

The other thing that bugs me to no end is when parts flop around when the bot is in bot mode. I realize that kibble is inevitable, but at least make it "lock down" somehow.
