Jin's TF Custom thread! 8.02.07 Megatron and Ironhide!
- Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Hey Jin, I have a question. I looked all over and if I missed it, I apologize, but I must ask.
On the Starscream mod, I know you mentioned trimming the missile barrels down a bit, but on the claws (I checked out the Doc Ock figure)...do they just snap in and pull off with a simple motion or what? I noticed that they look like they just snap off of Doc's tentacles, but is there any other modification that needs to be done, or will the claws just fit?

Ooh, I wanna see! I was toying around with making sliding mask parts, I just don't have anything that thin or that small to use yet.

Pretty much, they're connected by a hole drilled down the middle of the gunpod and a post (part of Gandalf's staff) inserted into the back of the claw. You could attach them a multitude of ways including magnets, a plug, whatever. Here's a pic.

Jin, you and your work are nothing short of insane.
And I mean that, fully as a compliment.
The incredible skills you have in your mind, the detail, goes beyond what many could ever hope.
I'd finally jump on the bandwagon and say "Damnit Hasbro, hire this man! You could learn a thing or two about his work!" but I'd be oh so wrong.
No, each piece you create (no matter that it's core came from something else) is a work of art. It truly is. Not to mention 100% handmade, with the blood, sweat, and tears to go with it. You are a true artist, and fortunately for you, you don't have to be like Picasso, or Van Gogh and wait perhaps centuries before being recognized. No, we fully recognize you and your talents now, and we appreciate every bit of life you put into them.
Hasbro's factory and mass production centers just simply cannot capture something that great. That greatness is in you, and like the greatness and your work, you cannot be replicated by simple manmade machines. No, you go far beyond anything they could hope for.
In other words, you friggin' rock. Like no one else.

And another Doc Ok loses his tentacles, but this time it's a comic and not the movie one.

O.O wow, don't try and make me get a big head or anything! I'm just a lil' ol customizer who like to tinker and make things. I wish I could work for Hasbro (they're in Rhode Island tho and I'm in California) or at least an advisor to suggest things.
Yep, Sentinel tentacles from the base of a Real-World Neo and an Omega Red coil.
Oh, no, just the inside panels of Bumblebee are painted so light doesn't come through the plastic anymore.
Annnnnnd, thanks for the replies everyone! You keep enjoying them, I'll keep making them. And hush-hush about the private army. Lemmings are expensive to import and you have no idea how hard it is to get little military uniforms in their size. Now, back to painting!

It's Ratchet! Um... dunno what else to say. He was a pain to repaint in all those little sections! And I -almost- matched the color of his shoulders with my apoxie sculpt. Allllmost!

I knew the Ratchet mold wasn't just a big yellow lump! Great work, especially on the color matching. Wow.

Very nice! I want a ratchet figure myself now after seeing the movie last night. I never had much interest in the toy until now.
