Heya all,

Cautiously optimistic:

By reading through the multiple threads regarding the teasertrailer vs. all the plothole threads and 'loyalty to TFs'(*1)' threads + complaints threads from the older films, not to mention the calls for a reboot, I have a little niggling hunch growing inside my gut.
It's a good vibe that I want to share, because I hope it will grow and settle into a happy fact:

It's this: that perhaps, by putting '"the" Ark' on the moon, the films will save/restore a massive chunk of the lost relationship between the fanbase and the collective decision making community, which I will refer to in this post as The Ivory Tower.(*2)
With the Ark in place, it's possible (the story will tell as it unfolds) that every single one of our beloved G1, G2, G3, G4 and whatever else childhood Tfs are in the films,albeit unseen in myriad cases, as exactly themselves, and furthermore, the Bots active in Tf1 and Rotf then become the first few that came (back?) online out of a potentially infinite population.

My point: That with the simple twist of adding the Ark on the moon, it's possible that the films will come to feel fully like G1, without actually ceasing to be the the enterely new and unique Movieverse.

I consider this a major breakthrough in what I consider a really ratty relationship between the Fanbase and the Ivory Tower.If the films finally manage to do that:
(A) confirm that our favourite bots are part of the movieverse,even if just by implying it without evidence,and
(B) bring things old and new into a harmonious line without resorting to a reboot (and thereby mangling every good thing about the Pre-Ark Movieverse into the oblivion of TF discontinuity in the process),

then maybe we will end up with a Hollywood arm of the TF franchise that we will come to love, and even look up to, and dare I say it...to trust!

I don't know what the Ark is doing, or will do, in TF3: DotM. I don't know if it will serve to import the long lost toys I assume it will import, or confirm them long lost.I also don't know if I am thinking fairhandedly or demandingly by thinking the thoughts I put above (and in the footnotes below), but the idea that we can have a close relationship with the moviemakers, by switching off the panic button and shutting down enough (through trust) to let them tell us a story is a really positive feeling, so good that I want to share it, even tho, for now, it's just a hope.

(*1)(and fans, since one unavoidably comes with the other, as they should in a healthy hobby, IMO)
(*2)Altho, right or wrong, I continue to feel convinced (for now) that Michael Bay 'strutted' into TF1 caring only about the arrival of Bay (that is, he had a premeditated contempt for the existing fanbase and appeal of all pre movie TFs towards all pre movie TF lovers in the initial stages of the Movieverse), meaning that he, specifically, may never have acknowledged a relationship between fans to either become lost or need to become restored [until after the Fan Backlash]).I am waiting to be convinced otherwise on this issue as hate and distrust are wastes of energy to me.

Readers note: This is a post about might-be-good-news, not Bay-hate, altho I consider Bay-hate a stage in TF history that should be discussable (rather than bashable) in any thread, especially because I believe that both Bay and the fanbase have grown into better presentations of themselves, partly because of it.
