You hear that? That's the sound of a million Takara Starscreams getting thrown away.

My thoughts... obviously his bot mode is fantastic, but I'm rather unimpressed with the jet. It's far too plain (no pun intended) and does a poor job of hiding his robostuff underneath. This is where MP-11 excels, and MP-3 is likely the greatest real world jet TF we've ever gotten or ever will get.

That is a good point. Honestly I dunno, the jet mode on Howling Meteor (really need to fix that title) isn't as good as MP-11 or MP-03 but it's not terrible by any stretch, and the robot mode is so ludicrously good it's not even funny.

Also, as far as jets go, as you say the MP-03 mold has the best jet mode...ever, really, and blows MP-11 out the water. If I were the type to buy one figure for one mode and another for the other it'd be Maketoys for the robot mode and Takara's MP-03 for the jet.

As it stands, Maketoys looks like the overall winner, though I'll wait and see how an inevitable new Seeker mold from Takara looks.

I was asking myself - why would I get this - out side of hte reason (it's Starscream)

I admit I am not that favourable on the jet mode - as someone said its too plain. But I have no room to display every figure in jet mode, so it would go to robot mode.

I like the details. I like how they got him simplistic and G1 Cartoon like. I love how the tail stabilisers fold up so neatly. I really like how the back looks. Its good old school flavour. I will get him (as soon as I can - after all I have that Starscream statue preordered)

How does it compare in height to the MP?

The hands seem less articulated than MP's

Whoa Starscream pelvic thrust... I hope he will not attempt to show off his endowments to the rest of my collection... I'll have a scrap.

And the articulation looks amazing. I hope it stands better than my MP's those are a nightmare to balance.

Absolutely not, I didn't mean to imply that. If there was no MP-3 or 11 to compare it to, my mind would be blown across the house right now

And that's why it feels like a silly complaint. I don't display any of my (vehicle) TF's in alt mode. But the MP-3 mold is SO GOOD, that I kinda want to

Not saying that it can't/won't happen, but they JUST completed the six pack. I think it'll be a while.

I know... I hate that pose. Not in general, but for a slavishly cartoon accurate G1 Transformer... it just looks wrong

I think MT's Screamer is to die for. Though MP-11's jet mode looks better and feels better. MT's jet isn't nearly as flush as TT's and is unapologetically kibbly underneath. Topside can also be a pain to get everything lined up properly too, even though the transformation (while different) is comparable in difficulty to MP-11. The nose is surprisingly complex and not what I was expecting as well. Your first couple times, things'll be snapping off for sure. And that cockpit I hear got some flack for not being functional or transparent, but it's my favorite part. I think the yellow/orange looks rich and beautiful. I love it
So really, the only thing MP-11 has on this guy is the jet mode.

Robot mode? It's the complete opposite of the jet modes. MT's is heavy, I can't tell what all the diecast pieces are but it feels like a lot. He comes together nice and solid, and given his posability, he feels infinitely more expressive than MP-11 could ever be capable of. And god damn he looks like he stepped right off the screen. Which not only is the current direction of the official line, but definitely NOT what MP-11 looks like.

But..... looking at MP Sunstreaker, Inferno, Megatron V2, I can't help but think that if a V2 Seeker is ever made that it'll one up this guy. Not to mention TT is continuously proves me wrong. I didn't think we'd get the "super tuned Countache" because it never actually existed, I never thought we'd get Shockwave due to rights, so on and so on. So you never know, a V2 MP Starscream might be in the works, but MT has me until then.

I didn't realize you picked up both Meteor AND Galaxy Meteor!! Awesome stuff Shaj! As for me, US MP3 Starscream will do until a V2 shows up. Maybe. I think my only gripe is the lack of coronation gear for Meteor! And some things in alt mode..

Damn, those Coneheads look GOOD. My eventual MP collection will probably only have Starscream in it but I'm tempted to pair him up with that Ramjet.
