I think that was The Hood, The Bud And The Kelly Parts 1 and 2.
This is the best US sitcom ever, I freaking love this show. Oh and the ironic use of "Love and Marriage" as the title song is bloody genius.

Haha, nice thread! I used to love that show!
I remember my mother thought this show was so degrading to women she wouldn't let me watch it! That didn't last too long though...

my mom said the same thing. only since we didnt have cable and could only get fox 64 (providence), its not like she had an alternative.
though i kinda figured that the men weren't portrayed much better. funny how she never said anything about that

Yeah, I'm watching this on Netflix right now. GREAT sitcom. Not as good or funny as Titus or Two and a Half Men, but damn close.
I like Jefferson better, of course. As a matter of fact, I don't even watch episodes from the first 5 seasons, because Steve is in the first 4, and Jefferson doesn't show up until almost the end of 5. The first 4 were funny, but when Jefferson showed up it was just different. I guess it was the difference between the 80s and the 90s.
But yeah, this show is one of my favorites. Al is just a great character.

This show was fantastic....one of the few sitcoms I actually watched, and still watch today (I hate sitcoms BTW)! It is, for all intents and purposes, a live-action cartoon of the American dysfunctional family in the 80's and 90's!
A friend of mine is actually restoring a 1967 Dodge Dart to resemble Al's beloved Dodge! Genius!

ditto. even the infamous season 7. my favorite eppisodes are "Luck of the Bundys", "Wabbit Season", "Reqrium for a dead Briard".
AL: "The good news, Petey knew over 150 words."
Bud: "Whats the bad news?
Al: "None of them were 'Please Don't Eat Me.'"

My favorites were always the handyman episodes. Those just went so unbelievably cartoonish. There's the satellite dish, the 'what does that switch do?', and workbench eps (forgetting the titles at this time).

This really was a great show. Pretty much everything about it was phenomenal. I always liked it when the family thought they were going to get a nice meal. Never happens.

Re: Married... with children
I remember this sequence fondly. I rememebr being on the floor laughing when I saw the end. What Bud goes through an entire sequence doing reluctantly, Al just walks up, not caring and not bothering to wear the parachut or a jumpsuit, no instructions, and just jumps, laughing.

Some of my favorite Al Bundy lines:
Talking about the perfect woman: "And three big hooters. One on the back for dancing."
Signing while tending his garden, to the tune of Old McDonald: "Old McBundy had a farm, E-I-E-I-O. And on this farm there was no wife, E-I-E-I-O. With a no-wife here, and a no-kids there, a hooker comin' over on Friday night, with big luscious hooters, and pizza and a beer there..."
What he wants in the perfect land: "No women- only girls."
In a dazed state after donating more blood than should be humanly possible: "Turns out the brain hides a pint. brain don't need blood, just gotta keep the brain wet."
Putting Tang mix on bread because there's no more food: "Who wants a Tangwich?"
So much wisdom, one can't help but admire- nay, worship him...

One of my favorite episodes is "No Pot to Pease In" which is the episode where 2 producers steal the idea for a sitcom from Kelly describing her family. Just watching Al react to the TV dad is priceless. And of course, "Requiem for a Chevyweight."
