I enjoyed Iron Fist. It was pretty decent.

I dunno, maybe if I go into it with Sour Grapes set to maximum I might actually be surprised and end up loving it. It worked with Saints Row 3, at least.

I've made it about half way through both Cage and Fist. The shows aren't bad I'm just having a hard time getting into them.

Cage kinda struggles after the halfway mark. Still watched and enjoyed it but it got tougher. Ironfist was pretty good, it just meanders a bit an Danny is a little unlikeable due to his naivety coupled with his being angry at people for reasons.

Both are good shows, but they kinda struggle a little compared to DD season 1 and Jessica Jones. DD season 2 gave us the excellent Punisher, flushed Matt's character down the toilet with Electra being terrible. Foggy and Karen rocked though.

I just saw Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 2. I wasn't impressed. At all. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. I really liked the 1st film, even placing it above most of the other Marvel movies, so I guess I hyped this one up for myself a bit, and was let down. I really liked the beginning, and it just kinda went downhill from there. And not even an appearance by Thanos. At least I got to see a TLK preview.

Finally saw Guardians. I find myself torn; I didn't hate it as much as Roddy, but I don't think I liked it as much as BURN.

The first one was more fun IMO, but that's not to say this one isn't fun. It was just very very self contained, to the point where most of the action only takes place on one planet, as opposed to how they went to several places in the first one. That was something I missed, the galaxy building and all.

BURN, you also said you felt Baby Groot got annoying; I'm not sure I agree with that, however I will say a couple things regarding the character: (1) I don't understand why he was so violent towards Drax at the end, when he was punching him in the arm. (2) the part where Taserface said "he's too adorable to kill" leaves me torn. On one hand, it's funny, but on the other, it's almost too much of a memetic mutation, exactly like bruce wayne telling the Flashe that his super power is "I'm rich." (3) however, the scene where he has to retrieve Yondu's fin was adorable. "That's why you dont like hats?" Pure Grootness.

While Drax's interactions with Mantis were pretty hilarious, he wasn't much of a character in this movie. He hardly did anything. It's like James Gunn worte the script, and then realized "oh ****, I totally forgot to put Drax in the movie!" Then proceeded to insert parts where Drax has definitely been there the whole time and makes a joke just to prove it. But at the same time, while his put-downs of Mantis were certainly dickish, they're not totally out of character for a space-orc. If Mantis hadn't been there though, Drax would've been super lame.

I didn't find baby Groot annoying. I did think Drax was misused, though. I didn't mind his insults, but the character as a whole would have gone over better if he was involved in more fighting. I mean, he's supposed to be the muscle, right? I didn't even care about Star-Lord or Gamora this time around, I got bored when they were on screen. The parts with Rocket and Groot were the fun parts, even if Yandu got annoying really fast. His death scene did get to me a little bit, though.

Homecoming was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. I knew I was going to hate it before I even saw it. I HATE what they're doing with Spider-Man for the MCU. The jokes were corny, the action scenes were trash, they didn't even have a scene of him swinging through the city, which is a staple of the character. And the worst part is that Peter was a complete idiot for the entire movie, instead of the genius he's supposed to be.

The only part I liked came near the end and it took place in a parked car. It was the only scene in the entire movie that had a legitimate sense of tension, which is a damn shame.

It was a rather exceptional movie, loved the Vulture, Keaton was great, the movie had an awesome twist to set up the third act. I hope to see a lot more of the Vulture in future movies.

Well, my first post in God knows how long may as well be about Spider-man.

First off, Sly, you're absolutely nuts.

Now: Keaton was the best thing about this film, hands down. I absolutely loved him, and look forward to seeing more of him. Scorpion too, that was a fun name drop, even if we didn't get to see him in action. But seriously, that plot twist is something. Well played, MCU. Well played.

While this is probably the best Peter Psrker we've gotten, I wish his suit wasnt so tech heavy. It kinda diluted the whole "teenage genius" angle Peter has always had. Ned wasnt a hated part of the film, but he wasnt really anything special. But Liz...Man oh man, did I hate Liz. I mean really, what a stupid character. "Ooh, where going swimming, but math is important to me, I wouldn't want to screw up this math bee but Ill go swimming unsupervised and" ugh, God, I just...on a scale of 1 to even, I can't.

And then there's MJ. While I though she was fine, I didn't like the reveal. Why does she have to be MJ? Why can't she be Michelle? When you change the character so much that the only remnant of who they are is the name, just change the name! I mean seriously, who else in the entire MCU has gone through so drastic a change in visual attributes? There was absolutely nothing tying her to original concept of MJ. And granted, the original concept was pretty much "redhead, model, into nerdy guys." But still, it was something. Im not angry, I just feel it's a huge wasted opportunity to either give Peter a new love inter st, of which he's had many so there is precedent, or to find the perfect actress for MJ.

But mostly, Michael Keaton rocked.

Okay, Flash I'd give you, except for the fact that he still had a defining Flash Thompson characteristic: being kind of a dick to Peter.

Honestly, I appreciated the fact that he wasn't a jock in this film, as the "High School Jock Is A Dick To Nerds" is pretty played out. That felt like an actual expats to the character.

Ned I'm not familiar with as a character. Is he not a new addition created for the film?

And Liz...Vulture's daughter was named something else in the comics wasn't she?

I just assumed she was Liz Allen.

But looking at IMDB, Ned (Leeds), Flash (Thompson) and Liz (Allen) are all listed without surnames. Guess that's their way of saying "these are classic Spider-Man characters, but they're not classic Spider-Man characters"

Honestly Good Sir, I wouldn't know. (A) I was homeschooled, (b) most of my brothers were/are homeschooled, and (c) my one brother who went to public school is not as big a nerd as I am. However, his girlfriend is kind of a nerd, and she did have problems with bitchy cheerleaders. So, you know. Maybe that counts.
