This wave looks decent, Rachael looks good. But Cyclops and Cap, the heads look screwy, same with Colossus.
The Brood sculpt just looks all sorts of "WTF."
I'm not sure why you'd think Cyclops and Colossus look odd; I can understand Cap though.
Cap is a 'First Appearance' figure, meaning he's sculpted stylistically in order to replicate how the character's first comics drew him. (In this instance, poorly...)
What is wrong with the Brood Queen? Best I can tell, she looks a lot like her comic counterpart.

For Cyclops, his head isn't proportioned right, with his giant friggin' neck muscles, his head should either be slightly larger or the muscles should be smaller.

Her name is Danger.
Basically, the X-Men's Danger Room becomes sentient after gathering data for years and years and years.
Xavier notices this as his power picks up on the newfound life, however, he does nothing about it. He tells no one.
So the program evolves and grows on its own, learning to hate Xavier and how to fight the X-Men over and over.
Eventually, it breaks out, kills some kids, and becomes one of the newer more legitimate threats to the X-Men.
(It also results in Cyclops telling Xavier to get the F out of their lives as they can no longer trust him and begin to wonder about just how much he has hidden from them.) <-My fav part...

I wish the Hasbro figures came with comics, cause that sounds absolutely awsome.

I see the comic as kind of a fortune cookie. You buy a Chinese meal for the food itself, and then you get a fortune cookie as a bonus for something more to crunch on and as a little bit of fun with the fortune and all. That's why I liked the comics, cause they gave me a chance to see the character in action, with speaking parts, and what kind of emotions they have. It's like the bio on the back of the box, only a lot more fleshed out.
Another thing is that Marvel has been producing comics for almost 50 years, and have made thousands of issues by now. Even the most dilligent Marvel fan would have a hard time keeping track of every character or issue and event that's happend over that amount of time, or even having the issue. What Legends did was allow newbies to get a feel for the character when they bought it, and some Legends have been pretty obscure and not exactly mainstream, like Man-Thing, Deathlok, Iron Fist, etc., so it also gave those characters some attention. Finally, some of the issues included in the Legends were color reprints of issues that can go for a lot of money, and it gives fans a chance to read up on classic adventures without shelling out tons of money. Essentials are for that too, and are great, but those are in black and white. Same deal, but it's nice to see things in color.

Cyclops needs giant friggin' neck muscles. His "optic beam" can exert great amounts of force on targets - it's not a laser - and when you exert force, there is always an equal and opposite reaction.
I've seen the math done - if a normal human projected a beam of force from his face comparable to what Cyclops has done on several occasions, his head would accelerate backwards at like 900km/h2.

Good thing Cyclops isn't a normal human, instead a mutant whos DNA gave him the ability to fire optic blasts. Not to mention, as we've seen on several occassions the body of a mutant conforms to their mutant power. Angel's bone structure is light and hollow like a birds to allow him to fly.
So I wouldn't be surprised that Cyclop's body is built to withstand the recoil force from his own blasts.
