im not sure if paramount does this, but they could always do both blu-ray and hd...or forbid regular dvd as well to help more sales. i was hoping bay would hold out and they woudl cave to do all formats.

I'm glad he wants to direct Transformers 2 again, since Transformers was a great movie.
But I have to say, Michael Bay has sounded like a right twit over the past two days. He should do himself a favour and not embarass himself like this again, because I think his effort on Transformers won a lot of people over who really had something against him.

He writes like he's a hyperactive child with ADD throwing a tantrum.
« No Blue-Ray?! Fine I'm gonna go pout in my corner, Paramount guys are meanies... wait, 300 is a cool movie, Imma go do Transformers 2 now I guess ok bye!! »
Still, I'm happy to see he's back on. I'm not a huge fan of his work, but he did win me over with Transformers, and I love the franchise too much to have keep switching director.

I said it in the other thread, and the sentiment remains. I enjoy Bay's movies. And I can appreciate the fact he lacks the PC filter a lot of other people have. But it's a good thing his agent is getting a good amount of money. It's going to pay for all the ulcers. =p
Honestly, between this and the mini-feud with other people on the project, I wouldn't be shocked to see him take on another project.

This doesn't bother me at all. I'm sure everyone here has said things that they didn't even mean before. Good man for saying/retracting his statement. I was really hoping that he would be back.

I'm glad Bay is staying on, I saw the news of him leaving and thought it was ridiculous. A film series, to be any good, has to retain the same style throughout, that's my opinion anyway.
I think Bay shouldn't post so frequently on that message board; any sensible person would think before they post.
This does remind me that he's a bit of an idiot but Transformers was awesome, going to see it for a 4th and final time soon, and I wait eagerly for the sequel.

Define "decent-looking".
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

I bet he was drunk-probably doing jello shots with his Blu-Ray buddies. I wonder if he called all his ex-girlfriends too.

No one saw this coming...
Someone from the studio reeled in his righteous indignation with a little money pep talk.
Hopefully now we can finally see what happened to Mountain Dew bot! Im so excited to see what happened to him!! I bet he started a dry cleaning business in South Beach.

To be honest, I am happy if he comes back on board again, but, I wont care too much if he does not either. Yes, he set the precedent for the SFX and style of the TF, but, there are plenty of other talented and less arrogant directors that could do just as good if not a better job!

Translation: "I was drunk, I own a Blu-Ray player, and then I realized how many more HDDVD players might be sold soon, giving me more money...my bad!"
Meh, no surprise to me.

ZoneDaiatlas wrote:But Michael Bay... 300 Blu-Ray sold 2-3 times more then the HD-DVD version and that the Blu-Ray will be under $300 by Christmas. Well at least Blu-Ray will be getting the Steven Spielberg movies...
First of all Blu-Ray players are 1300 Dollars in Canada and damn well around a 1000 in the USA, there is no way they will be under 300 come Christmas.
Second, as someone who worked for Samsung, one of the makers of Blu-Ray allow me to inform everyone of something. What you know is Blu-Ray is the supposed best. What you don't know is you need at least a 50 inch PLASMA HD 1080P tv to view it right.
Third, you need to be sitting 12-14 feet from the screen to notice the true difference between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.
Finally, The sales of one movie will not determine who will come out on top. What will? The PORN industry. The Porn industry destroyed Beta during the VHS-Beat wars in the 80's because VHS was cheaper. Well guess who went with HD-DVD??? PORN. Since the Porn industry puts out 100 times the movies in a year that Hollywood does guess what's going to win out in the end? Why, because people like PORN. They like all those dirty little movies.
Mark my words, it will be HD-DVD. And this is coming from someone who's job it was to promote Blu-Ray. Sony thought the PS3 would make Blu-Ray number one. LOL!!!!! Guess again, the PS3 has performed terribly and get's outsold at every store across North America by the Wii.
As for what Michael Bay actually said. The guy reacted like a 5 year old and then expects us to accept his apology??? Screw him. I'll take my next TF movie with no craptastic Americanised BS and shakey cam effects anyday. The story should be about GIANT F'IN ROBOTS, not some military guys who manage to destroy almost all the Decepticons.
The first movie was entertaining yes, but the second will be a million times better without Asshat Bay.
