As per a suggestion I got on this forum, I relisted the Optimus Prime on a shorter auction. Hey, if anyone of you wins and doesn't mind driving to Grand Rapids, It could be hand-delivered long before Saturday!

This is my first time I've really read this forum--We Michiganders should unite and help eachother complete these collections. More eyes is better than two, and we could be good collectors to eachother selling things we find to one another for cost and what-not. I've read a bit, but not enough to know if you all are already doing this.

Thanks folks!

I always sell to people on these forums at cost.

Networking for fans!

Postby wildfire405 » Sun May 27, 2007 8:53 am

Awesome!

Besides this forum, is there a place we Michigan collectors are united with wish lists, sightings, and items for sale?

I cover Grand Rapids for transformers probably bi-weekly. We should all be in pretty quick contact. I feel this is the sort of networking we as fans and collectors need to do. I'm tired of paying re-sellers and E-bay profiteers.

I've wanted a network of eyes in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio for ages. Perhaps we should have phone call lists, E-mail groups . . .

Any thoughts? Anyone already doing this?

Congrats enjoy the trip and vacation! Just rainy and cold here so far this weekend. I'm enjoying my Blackout, Wreckage, Brawl, and Jazz... :P

I wish I could say I was on vacation, but I'm actually over here for work.. which is still pretty cool. saw 3 classics jetfires at woolworths in downtown coleraine.. £17.99. pretty hefty price. there is a small comic book store in the mall. and a cute girl working.. I may have to stop back there. plus there was an old attack of the clones Artoo unit figure I dont' have there. might pick that up.

well, you can take the toy collector out of america... and he'll still look for toys. I went to the grocery store by my hotel, apparently it's like the irish version of walmart.. although not near as good(and wal-marts generally suck). No TFs, but they did have Dr. Who figures and what better toy to buy in the UK than Dr. Who. so I picked up a cyberman figure. it was£6.98. which doesn't seem so bad until you realize that you just paid about $15US for him  oh well, everything is more expensive over here, they just look like they have the same price. #-o

oh, btw.. I don't know who watches attack of the show on here(besides PQP), but I figure this is worth sharing with everyone

Very nice. I like AOTS, but I can only take the hosts in slow doses, they are pretty annoying. People crack me up, in the comments of the picture they complain about her wearing a bikini bottom under the costume. Will people on the internet ever be happy?

My girl called the Jackson Target about the Leader Optimus Prime and Robovision Optimus Prime. They said they would hold 2x of each for us. When we got there, no sale. They did give us a $20 gift card.

So we called Okemos, same thing. We got there and no sale. They gave us 3x$3 coupons off our next purchase.

So...back out to West Lansing. They pulled 2x Leader Optimus Prime for me and I got them for $29 off :)

Well, Target on Ann Arbor Saline Road had all the movie toys spotted so far except the Primes. I think I pissed them off because I asked about more as they only had 2 out and after they brought them all out, I didn't take a single one, I just wanted to see some of the one's I hadn't yet.

I'm starting to get a little depressed because even after seeing most of these out of their packages, I'm not so sure I want them anymore  I guess I still need time for these to grow on me :-?

I did pick up 2 of the 30th Boba Fetts if anyone needs one they'd like to open. Both had the packages folded, which doesn't bug me since I open everything anyway. So I no longer need you on the look out PQP, but thanks!

I hope everyone's having a save and happy holiday weekend and good luck to everyone looking for the toys they want!

Some of the movie toys do seem to need to be bought and played with, I have enjoyed the ones I have bought so far...Blackout, Jazz, Brawl, and Wreckage.

And I was not at all excited to get them until I actually saw them at retail.

I am sure that I will still pick and choose for awhile.

Wait JT, why are you getting all this free money from Target?? :???:

Man I hope there are some movie toys left by the time Sat gets here. :P

These street dates are stupid...I understand the need to build some anticipation, but they should really just put everything out. It is Memorial Day, they probably would have had better sales if they just released everything today. :-? Especially on a crappy, rainy weekend.

Okay guys, I need your help.

I ask that you start a collection to raise money for a plane ticket to detroit. The girl who works at the comic shop over her in Coleraine really needs to come home with me. Her name is Jade, and she loves my accent. So, if you guys would be so kind....

just kidding.. although, I really would like her to come home with me. but first, I should muster up the courage and ask her out for a drink.

anyways.. I'm glad you guys are finding movie toys. I'm looking forward to coming home and getting Leader class optimus and robo vision optimus. well, I should do some actual work today :-(

I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but the Westland TRU had the 3" titanium two packs of Prime/Bumblebee. They are the same molds as the individual ones.. they just have a metallic paint job. Just FYI

well, judging from the response.. it doesn't look like too many people want this girl to come over to the US.

ah well, I would also like to know how JT is getting free money from target. I'm guessing since they had the tfs and said they'd sell them to you and then they didn't, they were nice and gave you a gift card for your troubles?

They gave me the $$$ because they told me they would pull and hold stuff for me and when I got there they couldn't sell it. The person in the back who I gave the DPCI numbers to over the phone should have told us before we drove to the store to pick them up.

At least that's what Target told me just before they handed over the free money.

That's awesome. It's nice to hear a retailer actually taking responsibility for making a mistake. And it's only fair, you made the trip.

Well, I have a Memorial Day haul to report: Went to the Canton Target this morning and they had the Real Gears, Cyber Stompers, Prime/Starcream Blasters, those little crappy Throttlebot-looking ones of which I can't remember the name, Robot Heroes, Exclusives(Arcee/hardtop/Signal Flare)and Leader Prime out!

I grabbed four of the Real Gears: Longview, Spy Shot 6(Reflector!!), Booster X-10(Laserbeak!!!!), and Zoom Out 25X. There were two each the "gameboy" and the cellphone left. I got one Arcee(there were four of each there), and snagged the only Leader Prime they had.

I also got three of the Robot Heroes packs: Prime/Ravage, Bumblebee/Soundwave, and Ultra Magnus/Megatron.

It's much better than nothing. The only had 2 Swindles and some Protoforms, as far as Deluxes go. No Voyagers or FABs, either.

Good way to start the day.

Lansing Wal-Mart in Eastwood Towne Center had nothing.

Lansing in Okemos had nothing, same thing for Target in Okemos. Toys R Us in Okemos FINALLY restocked the Star Wars stuff. 5 cases of wave 2 figures - every single figure was there for each case except the Boba Fetts. Every concept figure was gone. Damn TRU employees.

I also found the Transformers Movie keychains there.

The Target on Carpenter road SUCKS!! I decided to go ahead and pick up a few movie TF's and see where it takes me and the Ann Arbor Saline road Target only had 1 Swindle and 2 Jazz's left on Sunday (left both Jazz's).

I went to the Carpenter Road one and they told me they had them all but could not bring them out yet as it's not June 2nd. I said the other Targets had them out and that they had upped street date on some of them and the women got absolutely bitchy with me saying I wasn't the first person to say that and thats its a load of crap and I quote "you freaking collectors need to get a life".

There was plenty I wanted to say to her, but I just laughed in her face and walked away. I don't feel like getting the PQP Meijer treatment and end up banned from the store

Just ask for a manager and tell the manager the employee was being rude not willing to do her job.

Customer Service is not an option, it's a requirement.

She should be happy you wanted to give her store business. Should have shown her your receipt from the other store.

If you have the time, I'd write them a letter. And I would finish it by saying that they have lost a customer, whether they may be too big to care or not.

Well, I did show the reciept before she got bitchy with me, but the number on the reciept for Swindle was the same as the Protoform "turds" they had out on the shelf and thats kind of what started the whole idea I was lying to them I think. I should have spoken to a manager, but remembering the crap PQP went through and being accused of stealing stuff, I decided to cut my losses and walk.

Your right though, even if I keep shopping there, I think I will write a letter, thanks for the idea!

No Noob, no free money for me, again, another reason I should have spoken to a manager. Oh well, I did get a lot of satisfaction from just laughing in her face and walking away.

First off you really should call the manager right away. There is NO REASON for her to insult you like that. And if the store manager doesn't work you can find a district manager. Believe me the system DOES work sometimes. Employees DO NOT get away with that crap with me. Because one, I will set them straight and two, I LOOOOVE talking to Managers.

So yeah you should give em a call.
