Okay, I think I figured out what's going on here with the episode order. They're being aired in the production order Saban had placed them in, despite the continuity issues that arise with certain episodes that had been subsequently reordered to rectify these issues. Which is why the episode number skipped from 13 to 17, then played 14 between 23 and 24.
This weekend, the episodes that aired were 25 and 26, the Super Putty episodes!
In episode 25:
- A blue background was placed in the five-Ranger battle pose seen in the "Today of Power Rangers" segment
- A large pink "YANK!", two small white "BinK!"s, and a splashing peach "SPLOOSH" were added to Bulk and Skull knocking over some chairs and getting hit by a paint can
- White 'Force Lightning" and a green aura background were added to the Frankenstein Monster's debut
- An image of the Blue Power coin was placed behind the Blue Ranger upon his first morphing
- (Not sure if this is new, but) bolts of white lighting were added to the Frankenstein Monster removing his weapons from his neck
- Pink lightning, purple sparkles, and croppings of two corners were added to Rita's ascension on the boulder from underground
- A purple spinning background was added to Rita mocking the citizens of Angel Grove fleeing in terror
- Two red fiery backgrounds were added to Rita still yelling at the people from her flying boulder
- A freeze frame aura was added to Rita laughing right before the second commercial break
- The same edit as the first one on this list occurred in the episode itself
- A green background was added to the Frankenstein Monster leaping at the Rangers to fight them
Since when does Rita use such technology as an infrared laser motion sensor? She's all about magic. She could just cast a security spell or something to let her know of Billy's approach instead of using a tool she wouldn't ordinarily use.
Billy: "It's time for molecular transmutation!" - There is no way on Earth that this line does not sound forced in the slightest bit! Nor does it even bear the same meaning as "It's Morphin Time!" That line refers to the Rangers' henshin sequences of donning spandex-styled bodysuits of advanced technology that are worn on one's body like clothing or armor. Billy's stupid nerdy line sounds more like what happens one changes from a man into a werewolf upon view the Full Moon. Putting on techno-clothing is not the same thing as a genetic mutation.
When Rita rises out of the ground on her boulder, this scene looks to be the very first time that she has shown herself to the general public. It should be from her on out that Angel Grove knows of her specifically, as opposed to her being mentioned in public in previous episodes.
No 60s Batman words in the unmorphed Putty fight with Tommy. Yay!
This is probably the fastest that the Megazord has been formed yet.
Jason: "It's time for some more firepower!" - And then the Megazord's Power Sword comes down. A melee weapon does not have any "firepower" (nor does this one have any "fire power").
Once the Dragonzord appears, the Megazord's damage has disappeared.
Dragonzord Battle Mode is once again incorrectly called the "MegaDragonzord".
Despite the Frankenstein Monster probably being the most bland-looking of all of Rita's monsters yet, it still was a very good fighter and definitely her most formidable minion yet.
Jason David Frank is total wearing the DoraFranke costume at the end of the episode.
In episode 26:
- A yellow and green spiky background was added to the ninjas' 'Power Kick' on the punching bag
- A smacking yellow "POW!" was added to the Bulk getting hit by the punching bag
- A red background, a green aura, and the words "SUPER PUTTIES" were added to the Super Putties entering to fight the girls
- The same huge "FLIP!" from Zack's handstand in episode 5 was added to Zack flipping a Super Putty on the playground slide
- A smacking pink "KICK!" was added to Kimberly swinging into and kicking a Super Putty
- A rolling effect was added to the Black Ranger rolling on the ground after getting beaten by two newly-regenerated Super Putties
- A black and white checkered background was added to the four Rangers recovering from their fight right before the next commercial break
- A Green Ranger commercial bumper was added after the preceding commercial break
- A dirty-blue background with blue, gray, yellow, and pink stripes running sideways was added to the four Rangers taking damage by the Super Putties
- A white wiping effect was inserted immediately after Jason and Tommy morph.
- A big blue "SPLASH!" was added to Bulk getting splashed with water at the end of the episode.
The narrator at the beginning refers to Titanus as the "Zord Carrier" instead of the "Carrierzord".
I wish that the episode didn't start off with Jason and Tommy already butting heads with each other and instead would have shown how they lost their cooperation.
Hey, look! It's Linkara's Ninja-Style Dancer times two! How in the world did a couple of buffoons like Bulk and Skull manage to... well, manage two pretty decent ninja martial artists that good?
The American footage of the Super Putties actually uses the full Sentai costumes of the Dokiita Golem Hei (red-eyed faces, belts, etc.) instead of using some U.S. Putty costume parts.
And introducing Jukishin King Brachion-- er, I mean, Titanus the Carrierzord.
The exact same footage of Rita/Bandora getting a headache from her defeat in the last episode was used for the same thing in this episode.
