I have a question regarding blackout, some people are saying hat blackout was originally intended to be soundwave because of the "animal bot" scorponok coming from him and such other things. I also thought that frenzy is a "listening or audio device" hence the cd shuriken and such but he comes from the cop car(can't remember the name right now"

So where does the soundwave as blackout really come from?

I remember the rumor that Soundwave was going to be a helicopter and then that got changed to him being Vortex instead. Soundwave then kinda dissappared for a while then another rumor started that he was going to be some kind of home stereo system or something like that. Then the writers saw felt that this wasn't quite Soundwave, so they set him aside for the sequel, and that's how we got Frenzy.
