Need help with the Dark Glass episode

So I read the storyline signifigance part and I like the theory of the 2 shells and spark fighting for dominance then the spark leaving and the DB 1 shell takes over, but how can this be if a TF cannot live without his spark?

Weapon: Diffraction Sword
This is just my personal flight of fancy, but it might help you.

Since the spark that originally inhabited DB2 was merely a piece of Rampage's spark, I theorize that DB2 was never completely alive in the first place. He was simply a clone body running a core program (designed by Megs) over a fragment of a spark that was never his own.

Also, the death of Rampage may have severed the connection between the spark fragment within DB2 and the rest of the spark still housed within Rampage, but since Rampage's spark is indestructible, the fragment left within DB2 may not have gone anywhere after Rampage's death.

Essentially, my theory is that DB2 still had the piece of Rampage's spark after Rampage's death, but that their connection was now severed. I imagine DB2 was then filled with confusion and despair, providing the perfect opportunity for DB1's core programming to take over for a matter of minutes.

*shrugs* I'm sure there are plenty of holes in my theory, but I figured I'd offer it up anyway.

We saw in Beast Machines that a TF can live for a matter of seconds if their spark

I'm not exactly sure what your trying to ask...but I'l try to explain as best as I can.Dinobot II was a clone of the original Dinobot....some will say that he was just a clone of his body but it is my opinion that since the Maximals and Predacons down loaded organic DNA into their systems ,to protect them self from the raw energon, that there are fragments of their Sparks coursing trew that flesh and when BW Megatron cloned DB he also cloned a fragment of the first DB's spark.
I know it doesnt explain every thing but thats my idea. And besides I think that some of these issues are the main reason that the episode was never maded.

I believe the main reason the episode never got made was that it was deemed "too dark", along with only having a linited number of episodes they could make, so it was abandoned in favour of lighter episode.

Such a brilliant ep as this was scrapped for such a crap ep as that one with the giant freaking cannon. It's so bad, I can't even remember it's name. It's an injustice I tells ya.

Rant over.

I figure the whole Dinobot thing goes:

Megatron states in Feral Scream that he is using cells from Dinobot. This means there is Dinobot DNA and presumably why he was a Dinobot.

Now, when Rampage exploded, only the part of the spark in Rampage blew up. Dinobot 2 still had the other half of Rampage's spark in his chest. But when the darkness of Rampage went, it turned the spark in Dinobot into a blank (due to the original owner of the spark dieing) that was quickly taken over by the DNA cells from Dinobot 1 that Megatron had mentioned he used. Almost as if the origninal Dinobot got ressurected (but not quite, if you follow me).

I'm assuming he got these cells from the fragment of the Golden Disc he recovered (Agenda pt2) since Dinobot held the disc, it's reasonable to say some of his DNA cells got onto it there. If the cells were in fact from that point in time, he would already have done the whole saving the valley thing, and those memories are contained in the memory of the DNA, explaining why Dinobot 2 had those memories.

But that's just my theory. I'm sure someone can come up with something better. Or easier to understand.

I ment to say one of many reasons.

Yeah that theory is great and all, but how can a spark loose its 'evil' essense? I thought the spark WAS the essense?

Being evil is a choise.......it is not part of their essense.Dinobot I showed us that when he switch sides.I would say that being overly agressive may be part of their essense but what they chose to do with that agreshion is what makes them evil.Being evil is all ways a choise......thats what makes it evil and wrong in the first place.

Think of it as a life boat getting launched at sea. It still stays tethered to the main ship, following it around with the people in the life boat able to interact with each other the way they want to, they can navigate themselves a small bit by how they want to go, but still being guided in general by the big ship. But then that ship explodes and the life boat gets cut, allowing the people in the life boat to now steer their own course in the sea, they now control their direction.

Dinobot II had his honour, but because the other half of the spark was in Rampage, it was preventing Dinobot II from breaking free from the evil. When Rampage was destroyed, Dinobot II was cut loose and able to then steer his own direction. And because his way is one of honour, Dinobot II took on these qualities.

I love analogies.
