I was searching the web for Trek news when I came across a message boards where members were discussing a rumer that Scott Bakula might be reprising his role as Jonathan Archer [now an Admiral] in JJ's new film.
Have any of you guys heard anything like this???

WTF???
100 years wouldnt have to matter.
The Enterprizse 1701 was in service close to if not more then 50 years before Kirk took command.
So maybe what will see is Archer at the launching ceremony or while its being built.
He'd be about 125 years+ but we've seen characters live to be that old already.
Also a partially seen bio was written for the Mirror Mirror Enterprise episode that detailed Archers later career.....in the un-mention portion its written that Archer died at his upstate NY home one day after attending the commission ceremony for the 1701.

I guess it could be done that way.I'm not saying that I'd like it....I wasnt a fan of Archer to begin with.About the only Enterprise characters that I liked was T'Pol and the dog.

Have any of you guys heard anything like this???
That would still be cool. All new Star Trek gets a send off from a previous series. McCoy was in the first episode of TNG, Picard was in DS9, Quark was in Voyager, Zephram was in Enterprise. It would cool to keep that tradition alive.

Correx!
Zephram appeared on a screen when Enterprise disembarked from drydock. It was a recording to commemorate the warp five reactor complex.
