New Transformers Animated Scans!
Ok, i'll admit it.. i am getting used to the new movie designs.... But I still feel like it was crammed down my throat first by the movie studios, hasbro, and michael Bay...
Now this crappy stupid cartton network, Ben 10, Teen titans crummy ass cartoon??? whats next??
Ok lets see what this years theme on transformers is.. or better yet the last 3 series..
hmmmm
Take G-1 and see how many variations we can make of it, and also how crappy can we get it??
So Armada was a variation of G-1, Energon was a continuatiuon of G-1, and Cybertron was basically were season 3 should have went.., still crappy.. then there is the Movie, and their new take on G-1, and now this crap??
I almost want to give up entirely...
are we so greedy that we have to market everything based on G1 to try to milk that first success for all its worth.. this cartoon is gonna royally suckass.. and will be the equivalant of the Transformers gobots in 2-D, as well as the large fisted small torso, ghetto art style, Urban anime, crappy ass looking robot designs.. these toys are gonna look like one of those second rate urban toy lines that toynami offers!!!!

Well if the comic book version of the G1 can be very violent then they can do one for tv!Starscream's Girl wrote:MONKEYBOT wrote:Duo Prime wrote:Starscream's Girl wrote:Godzilla wrote:But u know whhat I mean though right? I know what ya mean. And I was thinking, if they can make a movie rated PG-13 (and hasbro has no problem) then why can't they make a PG toon in the furture.
Yeah, with the style sort of like Gundam Wing/Macross. With a bit more maturity too the show. The first season of G1 was a bit edgy. I just watched it last night, and it really has alot of near deaths, ultra-robot violence, and totally disaterous situations. Seems like everything after that just got more kiddiefied. They have to know the fans of G1 and Beast Wars are grown up enough to at leats get somthing thats not for little children. They could do one for the little ones, and then have a late night version for the rest of us. Then make two seperat toy-lines, and make double the money. Makes perfect sense to me.
I like what your saying but I wouldn't hold my breath

A few points that will undoubtedly irk some people:
1.) There will never be an 'adult' cartoon. Transformers has been, remains, and will remain a toy-based franchise, and as much as the fandom likes to consider its size to be worthy of special attention, the truth is there ain't that many of us to justify it. If deep, mature storylines are what you're lookin' for, then the best bet is the comic books (which, most anyone can argue, are meant for us in the older age bracket). The best we can hope for is another Beast Wars-style of writing: appealing and entertaining to kids, adolescents, and adults alike. And really--it's better that way. Optimus Prime sticks out in my memories as a hero not because he was a fierce warrior who ripped apart Decpticons on the battlefield--but because he was the good ol' hero as a kid, and a symbol of the 'just, compassionate hero' as an adult.
2.) The show isn't necessarily going to be mindless drivel. If I recall correctly, the new plot of the series will focus on a new Autobot taking the helm of the Autobots--a young character who will possess the memories and wisdom of Optimus Prime, as well as his general likeness and name. If that is still true, then already there's an interesting story element to this new series already: living in the shadow of greatness. Yeah, it might not be brooding, dark, and sophisticated, but it might just be enough to make ya wonder; no way of knowing until the show premires.
3.) The new design is not the end of the world. Not only is it just one picture, it's a bloody awkward action pose. From the looks of things (and the general "action" of the pitch), it looks almost as though Prime is lunging forward--so there's going to be a distortion of perspective based on that alone. If we get to see it standing erect and at-attention (like the old bios from the Marvel comics), then maybe it'll make more sense, and more of the Optimus design we're used to will come out. Until there are more shots of it, there's little that can really be said.
And finally, one last point before I leave myself to the flames: fans as we all are, this isn't for us. It's for the kids. And if it turns out that we don't have to turn to comic books for the kind of deep stories we want, then hey, that's groovy, too.

Look! Look! Look! They gave Death's Head the Matrix and he turned into Optimus Prime! And here I thought Minion had destroyed him.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

That's cool. I'd like to see a show aimed at kids and not the warped perspective of kids that advertising executives seem to have.

Didn't they already do this with Hot Rod/Rodimus?

*Holds up a bottle of whiskey* You know....this will ONLY look good after drinking 3 or 4 bottles of this stuff. Seems like the Sponge Bob & Ren and Stimpy animation seems to be the 'in' thing. Even Bravis and Butthead inproved animation over the years
I mean a chimpanzee, a bucket of yak slop, a retarded midget, with Stevie Wonder as the producer would make a better final result.

I have a problem with your number 2, it states quite clearly in this new article that the series will not have fluidity and that each episode will be different.. so what chances do we have to see a leader grow if the episodes don't link together and there is no progreession of story, just mindless good guy vs bad guy battles, one right after another..??

Funny, we are those kids that they targeted before, why not give the same respect to our new generation? Is our future kids really that ignorant, I think not.
Besides, the future is unclear, and a future adult theme cartoon of Transformers, can be very likely. I think it can be a possiablity, and why not? There is major dollars in it. If not, well at least we have our books by David CIAN, OR Simon Furman, Alexander Potter, etc.

Yeah, RID was the best post G1 series as far as art goes(besides Masterforce), in my opinion of course. I just agree with the comparissons to other more 5-year old's style shows. It just looks a bit disapointing when i think i was 6 when G1 came out, and i thought it looked pretty F***'in cool. I can still look at it now an be amazed by some of the art in the scenes there too. I just think they arent moving forward, but, assimilating it in with the rest of the animated shows i don't watch. I like more of a serious approach when it comes to kick ass looking robot art, but again, it's just my opinion.

Screw the books, storage space is severally over rated these days.!!! my DVD space is open and needs a new season.. I'll look to Japan to proiduce a new series, maybe something we can rally behind the fan dubbing network and get actual DVDs released!!!

I really have no love for the Clone Wars Style of Animation....but this TRAVESTY...you have got to be freakin kidding!
I am a TF fan since G1…every Saturday morning religiously watching the cartoon…and it still is a guilty please for me in my 30’s. I even love the new movie designs. But I cannot take this style. I was really hoping it would have been CGI like Beast Wars era!

Firstly, I admit, I saw that tidbit about the new leader leak from TFormers and can't seem to find it. But secondly, the old G1 cartoon didn't have fluidity, either, but some people still maintain that the greatest characters came from that era. How is this accomplished? I'm not quite sure myself, but there are fans that'll swear by it.
My greater point is that right now, everyone is leaping off the damn deep end over nothing, which, granted, it's the Internet. I'm already fightin' a battle I'll lose by default. But when Beast Wars first came-up, the fandom went insane because "Transformers are vehicles, not @$%@!*$# animals!", and looked what happened there. We have no freggin' clue about this show other than a picture and a pitch to possible sponsors. Yet, the length of this thread is just astounding.

Well, there's no question that this is aimed at the little ones, and that arguably, us old-timers have been getting a good amount of treats recently, what with a live-action movie (for all to appreciate) and the completely-aimed-at-old-school-fans Classics, Titanium and Masterpiece toy lines. No problem here with the kiddies having some fun. Hell, that's where most of us got hooked, at that young age.
Still, I have to do this:

I finally understand what some people were so upset about when the movie designs showed up. It's all just degrees of fail.

I didn't mean the art, I meant the dialoge, story, and characters. They talked about religion, humanity....but I guess you're right. That's why I say the first pic is bad, but I hope the story is cool, and maybe the animation isn't that bad either.
