I think this is new, so if I'm wrong, please be kind.

My wife worked the book sale at her school and today picked up for me the new book called "Transformers The Fantasy, The Fun, The Furture" by Erin Brereton.

It's a real neat read. It has pages on G1 to Classics and Alternators, with some Energon thrown in (because of Scorponok), and talk about the upcoming movie, pictures of the actors and movie behinds the scenes photos. It has lists of the top Transformers ever, and they picked some odd ones (G1 Bonecrusher and Titanium G2 Megatron made the top 10 of Transformers ever!)

Their bios are obviously influenced by the upcoming movie. When they list the Decepticon army, it's G1 Megatron, Frenzy, Brawl and Starscream, but then they have G1 MICROMASTERS Blackout (they pulled the art work from the Botch the Crab web site from the looks of it!) and Dreamwave Barricade (anyone tell them these guys have nothing to do with the movie guys?) and Energon Scorponok! They have a mix of IDW, Dreamwave and G1 box art pictures, but with bios and mottos that seem to reflect the upcoming movie.

These is a chapter on G1 vs. Beast Wars comparisons, and a section on gaming showing pictures of the C64 video game and the Armada game.

I notice the book was put together a little too quickly and not proof read. It cuts words in half, starts paragraphs with conjunctions, and cuts off the ends of guns in the art work, but heck, it was a freeby from my wife, so I'm happy.

All through the book I notice art from Dreamwave, Hasbro and IDW (Guido Guidi did the cover art), but these are all his works from past years, nothing original, and no one is credited for art in the book - add to that the prominant "this is NOT an official publication" inside the cover, and I wonder he the artists even got paid for their work.

I just did a quick search on the book author, and she seems to be a writer of glossy fan collectable books and teen girl magazines. She wrote fan books for Hillary Duff, Nsync and 98 Degrees that I found on Amazon.com

Odd that she would be writing a Transformers book. It takes all kinds I guess.

Hmm. Interesting... yeassssssss.

You can tell the book was thrown together quickly, they literally stop words in the middle and continue them on the next line in odd places that are not legitimate, and I found instances of them spelling Predacon as "PredIcon", and the spelling it right in the next sentence. Also, in the small Beast Wars section, they mention Beast Wars "Bonecrusher" as part of the Maximal cast (you know, the Maximal that turns into a bison!), and the only reason they seem to do that is because the writer seems to be focused on anyone with a name used in the upcoming movie. So now Bonecrusher is a cast of Beast Wars... right...

Also, in the middle of the book is suddenly a US G2 toy line check list. Why? WHo knows? No other checklists are in the book. Like they cut and pasted in one from a web site. In the section on Beast Machines has a picture of Grimlock, because he's a beast who is a machine right? It's quite funny.

Not one artist is ever credited in the book either.

I scanned two of the odder pages. One is the pagw where they talk about the MIcromaster Blackout and COnstruction Bonecrusher as if they are in the movie, the second is their list of people they think could play the new movie voices!

Wow, those are some crap-tacular picks for actors.

I mean, I was expecting them to pick decent voice actors, but DAMN. They failed at that.

UM... Okay. I may pass. Leonardo DiCrapo as PRIME.

Know what book writer... Bonecrusher is simliar to a Constructicon because he IS a Constructicon.

I think agree they pulled stuff from the net to cash in.

It's not even licensed. So I say scan the rest give us a laugh. They are hurting the franchise.

Yeah, looking at some of the wording of their description of the various shows, they copied and pasted it from Wikipedia.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just found this book at a local "Tuesday Morning" store while looking for any RtS leftovers. It was 2 bucks so I figured why not.

I flipped through it in the store and it had some art from the Dreamwave era - along with a page about TFCC. I did notice that every other page has "This book is not an official publication."

Funny... A KO book. Never thought it was possible. It's nice for 2 bucks - if only for the printed material.

BTW, she hella stole all the content and screwed over the artists. Life is crazy, que no?
