New Transformers Knockoff Thread
If anyone decides to pick up the G1 Seekers that are coming out of Singapore could you let me know what the missiles are like with them. If they're the same as the 80s releases then I may just have to go for these, if they're based off the shortened TRU versions then it'll probably be a wide berth on everything except the ones that Hasbro haven't done and any clear versions that I fancy. The similarity of the packaging to the preSoundwave TRU reissues doesn't inspire the greatest confidence that they'll come with the right sized versions but you never know.

Those KO Dinobots are priced almost the same as the real deal! I think I'll pass on those, whatever the quality.

The listing is a little over halfway down the page on the left side. I picked him up about 9 months ago from toyhell. Pretty cool figure for a KO.

Yes they combine!I think I saw those guys back in Dollar General or some 5 and dime store in Leland, MS.... Damn if I'd only known I thought they were just bad imitations.
Yeah, we still have these in our local Family Dollar for $3 per 2-pack. Cheap plastic notwithstanding, it's a pretty nifty set for the price.

I wish I had that tool bot set too -- it does look pretty neat, and I *really* like that Quick Change animal gestalt.

From the land of amazing Knockoffs, comes movie 5-in-one legends combiner.
It's a 5-robot combiner made from legends Jetfire, Whirl, Bumblebee, Perceptor and Barricade, remolded into a combiner, and each representing a movie character! Jetfire is Starscream, Whirl is Blackout, Perceptor is Optimus Prime, Classic Legends Bumblebee as Movie Bumblebee and Barricade as himself.
Looks like they threw in a chest-piece and head from Sixbuilder or one of the other six-combiner Micromaster sets, and removed Jetfire's gun. Weird.

Okay, it was pointed out to me that the legends combiner's head is actually Classic Jetfire. First knockoff of that mold that I'm aware of, if only the head. Reminds me of the old Devastator Knockoff from Four Star that had G1 Jetfire's head. I owned that once.

I saw this one on the Spacebridge2000 gallery of KOs and though it looked familiar then realised you can get this guy in Argos! Hes not strickly a Transformer but is from a Takra series that came out after G1 had finished so here oversized KO Brave Fire Dagwon.

Thats a genuine Cybertron Optimus there to give you an idea of the scale

I don't think you could combine them. They modified the original toys, adding connectors and making it so they could make a "foot" from bumblebee's hood. They removed Jetfire's missile to make him connect, etc... Many small mold changes.

I got my knockoff Pyro in the mail today. It's a perfect fit for the original. Here is a picture before I transfered over the legs. The Missiles works in the real launcher too. It only didn't come with a rifle. Shame. More pictures to come.

6.99 and it was at a small mom and pop store by my house, they had Energon Bulkhead and when I went to buy bulkhead they were sold out. They also have that stealth bomber from the Robot Masters line. which was featured a few pages back.

I picked up a knockoff of the Transmetal 2 Megatron dragon for $10 at Big Lots in Chicago just recently. They did also have a knockoff more closely resembling the original colors.
[/URL]
I'd say he looks even better in person than he turned out in the photo. His wings collapse or unfurl like the original's, though he does not have the lever to control his neck. (Hasbro goofed on the production of this lever anyway, so some simple modding was required to make the original TM2 Megs or Cryotek lock their necks into place for flying or lunging poses.) Since this knockoff's neck is a bit stiffer than the original's rubber, it lends itself to aggressive poses. His arms snap right on; not sure why they packaged them that way.
The spark chamber and chest crystal come in solid rather than translucent plastic, and the shading's a bit less subtle than on Cryo or Megs, but overall I'd call this knockoff just barely shy of a legit repaint in terms of quality. The dragon's one of my all-time favorite molds, so I have him displayed alongside my fire and frost dragons as a sort of nature or earth dragon. Haven't decided on a name yet.

One of the best features of the k.o.Transmetal 2 Megatron is there are no wheels on the legs because lets face it,did anybody actually use or posed him in vehicle mode anyway?

Any sign that the giant KO star saber minicons are finally going to get the Sonar team member?
