i also dislike most anime. there are a hand full of ones i like (trigun, gogaigar, outlaw star, coyboy bebob, a few others). i love animation, but anime ruined the saturday mornin cartoon. try and find one that doesn't look like yu-gi-oh or pokemon. the don't exist anymore, and if they do its stuff that looks like chowder or flap jack. i miss the animation style of the original g.i.joe, tf, rambo, and even chuck norris and chuck norris' karate kommando's starring chuck norris. its not that i hate the style completely, but i would like some non-anime influenced shows that don't look like crap. eye's don't have to take up half a face, power ups don't need to be 3 episodes long, and not everything is dependant on a kid saving the world with an action figure, a pet, a card and a gadget.

i like tmnt, i like my classic shows. and i wouldn't dislike anime so much if i wasn't overwhelmingly bombarded with it. Remember when DBZ was a unique look for cartoons in america? now its the only look, and that pisses me off. the alternative? scooby doo.

i'll stop while i'm ahead

I found an massive number. "They don't make anime that doesn't look like Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon" is like saying "They don't make cartoons that don't look like SpongeBob." It's just not true, and you're probably not looking in any of the right places if you think that.

read the sentence i wrote before that. i was referring to saturday morning cartoons. and there are few of those left any more. you got 4kids cw and cartoon network. abc shows 2 cartoons on saturday made by disney, and cw shows yugio/roolbots/dinoking. there really aren't saturday mornin cartoons anymore, and the few i can find are the crappy japanime kind.

yes there are plenty of good lookin anime, i just don't care for the plots/drama/bs of ah my goddess types. like i said there are some good anime's, but i don't like its influence on american shows since thats almost all we saw for 10 years

The last good cartoon Nickelodeon produced excluding Wolverine and the X-Men was Invader Zim. Invader Zim got canceled because it was deemed "too dark" for kids. Screw that, I grew up on Rocko's Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, AHHH! Real Monsters, and Weinerville. All were screwed up shows in their own right and I turned out fine.

I'm not mentioning Avatar because of its anime-influenced style.

I can't think of anything Disney did though. I'm sure there's probably something, I just can't remember it.

While maybe be anime-influenced in its animation style, most of its Asian references appear more of Chinese origin than Japanese.

Regular Nickelodeon is a basic network channel.

And CBS and NBC do have saturday morning cartoons. They're just not the popular ones. They're the preschool and educational kind of cartoons.

Currently, NBC plays a children's programming block Saturday mornings called called qubo, which shows the following cartoons: Babar, My Friend Rabbit, The Zula Patrol, Willa's Wild Life, Shelldon, Jane and the Dragon

As well, CBS shows another children's programming block Saturday mornings called Cookie Jar TV, which shows these cartoons: Busytown Mysteries, Noonbory and the Super Seven, Sabrina: The Animated Series

nick shows its regular shows on saturday morning. saturday morning cartoons are supposed to be the action packed joy-ride of thrills and adventure. and Sponge-bob sucks. there's not enough illegal substances in the world to make that show watchable in my opinion. granted i didn't see nbc has cartoons again. i checked my listings, cbs has 2 cartoons on next saturday, then an hour of news, then 2 more cartoons, then an hour of infomercials, then fishing. fishing on tv at 11 am on saturday. ugg

i just remember cartoons til noon on 3 or 4 non cable channels as a kid, and that went away and it makes me sad.

and anyone remember weekday afternoon cartoons on non-cable channels? kids wb, disney afternoon, the shows on fox? when i grew up i could watch g.i.joe, transformers, thundercats, silverhawks, Bravestar, ect on non cable tv and loved it.

but i think i'm totally off topic now, so i'll try to shut up

I just found out that The Shredder while being the most popular and famous TMNT villain, in the original comics he only appeared in the first issue - in which he was killed off for good. Not counting clones and stuff that are their own characters.

And Spongebob is awesome.

I was talking about its animation style, but I do like Avatar. Its a fun show with a great story.

All those cartoons were from the 90s. I thought we were talking about modern cartoons? Never heard of American Dragon though. Might have to check it out. Not trying to argue, I just really thought we were talking about cartoons

Gargoyles- Such a kick ass cartoon. I can't believe anyone could ever say one bad thing about it.
Mighty Ducks- Always been a personal favorite of mine
Darkwing Duck- I have every episode on DVD. I love DW
Aladdin- I think this may have been better then the movies. It was great
Recess- Just a fun show
Legend of Tarzan- I saw a good number of episodes, wasn't to bad
Duck Tales- Another fun show
Timone and Pumba- Almost anything that's a spin off of Lion King is good. This show was hilarious

Well, in this special, the Shredder from the 2003 cartoon will be Ch'rell (the Utrom Shredder), the first Shredder the Turtles faced.

As for there being multiple Shredders, when you think about, the 2003 series really only had two true Shredders. The first was the Tengu demon that bonded with Oroku Saki, which resulted in the original Shredder. Then there's Ch'rell, who took up the name and identity of the original demon Tengu Shredder. The only other is the Cyber Shredder, who is merely a secondary portion of Ch'rell's self, manifested in cyberspace and later given a physical body. But there's also Karai, who took up the mantle of the Shredder following her "father's" defeat. She doned the armor and took up leadership of the Foot, so it's up to debate whether or not you wanna count her as another Shredder.

Though, there's also three deformed Shredder clones, but these weren't him and lasted very shortly.

I'm curious to see how Hun and Karai will react to Ch'rell's return. Though Hun may be against him (as he was with the Cyber Shredder), Karai will have to choose whether she'll side with him again or not.

That... was... AWESOME!!!!!!!!

That was amazing! One of the most impressive Ninja Turtles stories ever!

I LOVED the interactions between the old and current Turtles. Like how Mikey was the only one who liked the old Turtles at first, but then found them to be annoying as well. Old Shredder, Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady were perfect! Exactly like their old series selves. And the Mirage tutrtles were just BEAST! I loved how Raph liked these guys and tried to be like them, only to find them to be even more hard-headed than himself.

Karai seemed to come from out of nowhere. How she found out about Ch'rell's return is beyond me. And once again her loyaolty was shaky; siding with her Master at first, and then betraying him later. I loved how she described the Dimension X technology as "ridiculous" and "cartoonish" compared to the Utrom technology. And it was noted by the current Turtles how the old Foot Soldiers were "exploding robots". Brilliant!

"Why is he narrating?" - referring to the Mirage Leonardo.

Though, I wished that the old April, the old Splinter, and the Mirage Shredder had gotten more screen time. They just seemed to be there only just to make an appearance.

But what was truly great was when the Shredder revealed all the TMNT of the multiverse, showing off images of the Mirage Turtles, the live action movies Turtles, the anime OVAs Turtles, the CGI movie Turtles, and many more TMNT advertisements/posters/promotional artworks/etc. from the days gone by. Though, I think the only TMNT versions that weren't seen were the ones from the live action Next Mutation TV series (I wonder why  :-B).

Not to mention the ending appearance of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird working on the Mirage comics was a very nice touch.

Overall, I give this movie...

...a whole lot of applause! :P :

That was pretty freaking cool. I loved how everyone looked down on the 80's version characters. Krang and Shredder were the most hilarious.

80's Raph speaking to the screen causing Hun to go berzerk. "Who are you talking to! There's no one there!"

Original Badass Turtles were Badass

A lot of fun moments were had.

I feel so bad for 80s Shredder. He got abused through the whole thing and didn't get a single redeeming moment, even at the end when there was an opportunity. =(

Taking it at face value, I enjoyed it a lot. I laughed so much, so that at least is a good thing. But there's no way I could ever appreciate it as a serious story, multiverse stories are only one step up from time travel stories in my book, and I loathe time travel. Thankfully I don't think it was meant to be taken seriously.

Wellp, I enjoyed it, and it brightened up my evening!

And there is only one true Shredder... And he enjoys a good cheese danish. :P

You must not have looked hard enough. I noticed an image that looked a lot like the movie's DVD cover.

Well, I could have missed it. I'll have to check again.

EDIT: Your right. They were there. But as a separate coninuity from the live action movies.
