Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

No more buying parts to use for customizing, at least for awhile

Postby Megatron '73 » Fri Nov 23, 2007 5:07 pm

Although I'm nowhere near being as good as most of the customizers on here, I still enjoy doing it. But now, because of some great news, I'll have to limit my customizing to save money. My wife and I are pregnant for the first time! We've been wanting this for almost six years, and finally our dream has come true. I'm still in shock. So now, any customizing I do will have to be limited to using stuff I already have.

P.S. ~ I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving.

Congrats. Leftover pieces always have some sort of use.

 Thank god the wife is out as it will surely make her broody! WTG. Life is going to take a major change for you both. The most amazing and beast change imaginable! Luv to you all. If its a boy i vote "Grimlock" and if its a girl i vote "Carly"! I have been lucky enough to name 2 of our family members "Grimlock". They were first born, psycho-kittens but if we ever have another boy, "Grimlock" it is!

Congratulations! But I have to say it... You've already created the ultimate custom from the stuff that you "already have".
(I'm sorry. ;))

Congratulations on the new family and you really dont have to worry about spending a ton of money on extra custom parts. You can try e-bay under the heading transformer parts or accessories lots, checking the toy aisle in most thrift stores or discount outlets,or if those dont work out try buying k.o. transformers or even yard sales are a good bet.

Congradulations!

I just got one of those myself. It's a pretty good 1/3 scale replica of me!

Affording parts isn't the hard part, the hard part is TIME.

I've been stocking up parts for customs at all the sales. The tail end of summer was great and the pre-christmas stuff has been pretty good to me. I plan to hit the post christmas ones hard too. When I get time I get about 5 - 30 minutes tops to work on customs. Most days not even that.
For Sale:
Classics Magnus/Skywarp 2 pack MIB
Classics Devastator MIP
HA Sideswipe K-Mart exclusive color Loose

Currently looking for:
ROTF Target exclusive Sideswipe from the 2-pack
TFCC Punch/Counterpunch
Alternity Primes, silver & white versions
(opened is OK, to be used for customs)

PM If interested

SS but i forgot one important tip. Transformers contain chewable parts! Never let them close to a collection until they reach 30...or 40...ever!
