My favorite dinosaur in my favorite color... but I'm not too keen on Snarl's paint scheme, looks too Wapinator-y. Maybe I should hold out for the inevitable G1 redeco.

The Movie bots are already a confusing mess with teir distinctive colors. I'm pretty sure only the trained eye will be able to tell which Dinobot is which on the screen. :/
Distinctive colours? ugh ... Galvatron may as well be Megatron with his grey spikey alien look.
"Distinctive colours" was used very, VERY loosely here.
I love the movies and appart the fact that WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much screen time is used on the goddamn humains, it's quite hard (or even impossible) to tell who are the bad guys and who are the good guys in some intense fight sequences.
I expect lots of confusion when a bunch of GRAY Dinobots fight a bunch of GRAY Decepticons.

Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

diaclone gig sludge was my first dinobot (had a soft spot for those big fat dinos) so i was curious to see what they'd do. It's not bad, it's just the ribbed plastic always reminds me of bionicles and their ilk. Snarl seems very very good tho especially in dino mode and if there were one dino i'd pick up it would be one between slaug and snarl. Snarl also kinda reminds me of some rocklords...
would like to see g1 decos on these, though each time i see slog now i keep thinking "ribbed.. for her pleasure"

Apparently Emiliano Santalucia did some work on the Slog design.

I only did surface details on this one (adding details to an existing model which then Takara incorporated in the sculpt) but it turned out pretty good!

These guys look ready for battle in dino mode, and positively brutish in robot mode. Nice!
So I'm guessing Rairyu doesn't count since it's just the Pretender Shell? Or how about Saur/Zaur?
Loving those two already, and all 4 will be so bought. I just need to decide on a Grimlock.

Got my Construct-Bot Slug and Strafe. As a fan of Dinobots, and a fan of Construct-Bots, so far, I am twice as disappointed as I normally would be.

I think Strafe is kinda cool, but I agree Slash is a hot mess. I plan on getting all the Dinos except Slash and Grimlock.

Snarl appears to actually transform essentially just like his G1 form, which just makes this mould even cooler.
And though it's not pictured here, I still have a problem with AOE Strafe (Swoop) having two Dinobot heads, making it more Terrorcon than Dinobot while the rest of the AOE Dinobots seem to stick with their prehistoric dinosaur forms. I guess the simpliest answer to that question is that it's "Bayverse."
Another question... what's the deal with the Dinobots all having "Elf" feet/shoes in robot mode? Has anyone else noticed this? Or know why?

Given the knight-esque theme about them, it looks like it might be a spikier interpretation of some medieval types of boot.

It's interesting the dislike for Slash. We are all older so we grew up with the distinct idea of that a veloceraptor looks like the kind found in Jurassic Park. But that has changed in the last 10 years due to some new dinosaur discoveries. You can go on google images and you will see remnants of pictures from before that (mostly jurassic park) and the current interpretation of how they might have looked like.

The books have been rewritten and the veloceraptor is now a feathered dinosaur and I guess the designers were just trying to keep up with the times and incorporate this new portrayal. I can't fault them for that too much. However, the inclusion of the feathers does add to him looking too busy so I understand both sides.
I actually don't mind Slash as much as I mind Strafe. My favourite part of transformers is the transformation process and he looks really lacking when it comes to that.

My problems with Slash have nothing to do with the feather look and everything to do with the terrible looking bot mode.

Seriously. He has feathers in the bot mode that are around his crotch and for some reason are pointing up.
If i find him at Ross or Aldi in a few months, I might pick him up for cheep just for the dino mode, but he is a pass for me beyond that.

I can accept that explanation, though the "curled-up ends(toes)" is still very much "elfish" as opposed to "knightish."

I don't know, but seeing as they are not in the first two waves, I would recommend preordering as soon as they become available for preorder. If past patterns continue, stores will likely overstock the first two waves and then never order the later waves, or only order them in small amounts.
