Official Transformers Generations Discussion Thread
Re: Official Transformers Generations Discussion Thread
Dragged the family to our local Ollie's in Mid-Michigan yesterday--it was pretty picked over, but I snagged the last Arcee, the last Chromia, the last Waspinator, and Roadbuster as well ($12.99--they had about a dozen of those left). They also had a couple Scoops, and a Rattrap. What was frustrating was that someone had taken nearly every one off the shelves and stashed them around other parts of the toy section, so there might have been more there that I didn't see.

Like for instance, how we could use an updated Generations Ratchet that isn't trash...

Indeed, I find myself torn on this topic, as I really dislike the '84idea, yet I really want another
use of first-aid as it's such a great limb
Know what? They just have to remold the head and hands of the 2007 Movie voyager Ratchet to give us a MASSIVE and BAD-ASS Voyager Generations Ratchet.

Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

Re: Official Transformers Generations Discussion Thread
I can see some merit in making a Combiner foot or backpack part that turns into the back part gap filler you might like to have for Trailbreaker and Ironhide perhaps.
Less important for Ironhide as he has some reason to be a pick up where as due to naming issues the only plain pick up that looked like Trailbreaker wasn't sold as one (the Spychanger one is instead sold as Ironhide).
http://tfu.info/2004/Autobot/TFUIronhide/ironhide.htm
I can excuse that though as that is at least still similar to the Black Diaclone colours of Pre-Transformers 'Ironhide'.
It does kind of make me want an Energon Ironhide repaint in Trailbreaker colours though.

Removing Generation Arcee's buttflap.

The only gen deluxe at my Ollies was a sad pathetic single Scoop figure (which I already have) sitting underneath the photocopied sales flyer stating the price of the deluxe figures. They also has a couple of AOE figures I paid no attention to, so I'm not sure if they were deluxes or the gimmicked up figures, a bunch of those "no particular line" legends figures (mainly redecos and reissues of the RTS legends), and a whole case (plus one more figure elsewhere in the toy area) of Roadbusters. Damn, they must have really overproduced that toy, shame, it's not a bad one at all.

Same here down by Allentown. Though I picked that one up. Why doesn't Roadbuster get enough love. Perhaps Sins of the Wreckers will change that.
Either way anyone have a file copy of the Ollies ad? I'm hoping that Toys r Us will accept the flyer or file for it and price match for any they have left. Should've done that to begin with or looked for one left at mine. As much as it was a great deal I'm far from most other Ollies that might have them in stock and just Scoop wasn't gonna cut it for this bargain.

I hope nobody minds me resurecting an old thread but what I found fits here.
Someone on facebook posted a pic of Generations Payload (the shuttle that came with cosmos) and there is a variant on the autobot symbol. Its not easy to make out and I thought it was just a bleed in the tamp at first, but the symbols are actually different. One is the G1 symbols (the one with the bigger eyes and thicker white lines) and the other is the new styled symbol used in the movies.

Which version do you guys have? I asked some people and they said this has been a common occurence ever since 2007 when the movies got a new symbol. Does anyone know if there are other variants like this in the generations line?

Completely separate from my disdain for all things live-action-movie-related, that one on the left just looks so much cleaner! Does anyone have a "movie-variant" where it doesn't look so... imperfect?

Bumping this thread to announce that I just found out from former Fun Pub contributors Jesse Wittenrich and Randy Para that Generations Thrilling 30 Voyager class Roadbuster had a pretooled alternate head based on the G1 Action Master Gutcruncher.
Add that to the ever growing list of never-released alternate tooling.

Maaaaan, that would have been a heck of a cool use for that figure since he already looks a lot like Roadbuster.

They should have used that head for General Optimus Prime.

I think it was said that the reason they used the Roadbuster mold in the first place was because of how Roadbuster's head resembled that of the Dirtbag/Gen OP mold.Emerje wrote:They should have used that head for General Optimus Prime.

I can definitely see that being the case, but it still would have been nice since the head is so much more Prime-like. I guess reimagining the alt mode was enough.
Maybe they should have just worked Gutcruncher into the story anyway since they already had the mold.

Surprises just keep on coming. I've already abandoned the pretool summaries for 2010 to T30, guess I should rebuild it. I mean, T30 Orion Pax has Sergeant Kup as alt head

The resident Rewind... well, half of one
- Jelze Bunnycat =:3
Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him
)
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1
- Legacy Core Slug, Sludge & Snarl
