Ok, let the shunning begin.......wait for it......................NOW!
Just saw the film tonight, Im pretty sure its the best movie I've seen in the past two years next to Pans Labyrinth. I really doubted Michael Bay, but he pulled through on this one.

Ok, the acting could have been a little better and I didnt really like how the love story took such a front seat in this film, but it had to be present I guess, so...
Special effects / explosions / CGI were all pretty much jaw dropping. The fact that this film was rumored to drop down to PG kinda discouraged me, but yea, solid PG-13 flick.
Soundwave was actually a lot cooler than I imagined him to be. I havent been keeping up with all of the info that's been leaking about the movie in the past five to nine months, so Im sure even if you havent seen the film you know most of this stuff. I also liked how they referred to the original movie in some aspects, I wont ruin that for you.
Megatron could have been cooler, same with Starscream. At least in robot form.
At the end of the movie, when the military simply dumps the Decepticons into the ocean, am I the only one who felt that connection with the original cartoon series? I realize the Decepticons crashed their "ark" into the ocean in the original series and thats completely different from having their bodies buried at sea. But does anyone else think that it sort of alludes to what could happen with a second film? Maybe them reawakening or something under the ocean.
Maybe Im just thinking too far outside the box on this one.
Edit: Also, I know GM sponsored a lot of this movie, thus why their cars were the only ones that transformed, but I still wish multiple companies could sponser different transformers and all make appearances in this movie. Whatever, cant have 'em all.
8.5/10
And I definitely plan on seeing this again within the week.

biggest problem: cola machine bot and 360 con.. that made me want to puke.
and the end? how would optimus shoving the cube into him make the autobots win? then sam shoved it into megs and they still won.. i don't get it.. did i miss something? i know me said it had to be one of us brother..
that part missed me.

I feel that Megs is still alive because of the allspark and he will repair Blackout and Bonecrusher. Barricade will rejoin them along with scorp and frenzy. The Moutaindew bot and 360 bot may return as D-Cons. Megs will take an earth mode and Screamer will come back with more D-Cons just to find out that Megs is alive and well. An thus the new war will begin. And im sure Prowl Sideswipe and Sunstreaker will be in it. Seeing as how Jazz just had to die. He had almost no screen time just like Bonecrusher.

I know Megatron supposedly died, but wasnt that him flying off into space at the very very end? Maybe its me, but it sorta looked like him.

Yea, I know how lots of people hate how companies can get product placement in films (ie, the iPod in the very beginning on the helicopter) or the X-box 360-box. But you have to admit that the Mountain Dew decepticon was pretty rad. Hey also, do you have any larger pics of your transformers ink?

hmm, so if optimus would have killed himself what would have stopped the decepticons from finishing off the last of the autobots and humans and sucking earth's resources dry?

I'll be honest, I don't think that Megatron is "Dead", oh so we stabbed the source of all life into the heart of one of the strongest and most resilient Transformers.
And then we shoved all of the dead decepticons into the deepest part of the see in close proximity. (Prequel Comics established that Megatron only slipped into unconsciousness because of the rapid temperature shift and low energy levels, the temperature and pressure are trivial to a fully functional bot especially a fully functional bot with the source of all life infused into his very spark.) The Movie establishes that it is trivial for the Allspark to heal Transformers.
There is also the small piece of the allspark that Optimus recovered, and the remaining radiation that the sector seven facility harnessed.
As far as the rest of the movie, it was solid. I particularly enjoyed how Brutal Prime and Megatron's fight was. Of particular note was how both of them were totally spent and broken at the end of the battle.

Just saw it, and all my doubts are now void. it kicked serous ass.
I still think Megatron's design could have used a little work, but otherwise it was great.
I'd like to see the sequal have primarily Starscream in charge of the decepticons until a new, allspark upgraded megatron turned galvatron shows up

While I admit, I did not like the new designs, or the direction the was heading in when they were first revealed to us many months back. Over time I got used to them. Then once I accepted the fact that this was not to be a direct G1 rendition I was pretty excited...
Well, the movie rocked!
I am totally satified with the way it turned out, and cannot wait for the sequel.
The theatre was packed with many Trans Fans. So all of the chearing, clapping, and the "OMG's" made it that much more fun. My 05 year-old son enjoyed it, as did my fiance' (she actually cried a little, and is now an Optimus fan). I actually got the chills twice, and had numerous geekgasms.
There were some technical difficulties with the sound during the Scorponok desert attack, but everyone quieted down so eveyone could hear. After that no one seemed to mind. Even afterwards in the bathroom grown men, black, white, spanish were recaping they're favorite moments (and I saw that I was not the only one who wore an Transformer T-shirt).
Overall this movie brought me back to my childhood, and I was totally blown away.
Anyone else out here in the Hartford CT. area? I can't wait to see it again.

Maybe, maybe not. The whole battle was over the Allspark cube. Duh. We all know that now. What Prime was willing to do was sacrifice himself to keep the cube from falling into Megatron's hands/claws/whatevers. The same way that Megs "died" (really hoping he's not dead... Galvatron?!) is how Prime would've died if the cube was shoved into his chest. Good?

I loved the parts where the Autobots were talking amongst each other and dicussing their plans. That was like right out of the G1 episodes. I would have loved to have seen more acting from the bots especially the Decepticons who kind of got robbed of screen time in my opinion especially Starscream. I am not sure how I feel about the ending and how its all going to work into a sequel. I think they have some major explaining to do of why or how Megatron is dead and what the piece of the All-Spark will be used for that Prime took. And I am asking the same question as others, how was it going to help if Prime took his own life and destroyed the cube going to defeat the Decepticons? I can see how they wouldnt be able to make anymore minions but Megatron and the rest could still enslave Earth I would think. Anyway, I did LOVE the movie and it was everything I had hoped for. Thank you Paramount, Dreamworks, Speilberg, and Bay!

Just got back from the movie. Gotta say, wow. I'm so glad my expectations were low for this film, made me happy to see how awesome the TF movie was.
The only thing I didn't really like, was Jazz. He seemed really awkward in the film.
That and however the hell losing his legs gave Bumblebee the ability to speak.

movie absolutely rocked - i've seen everything except Pirates 3 so far and I doubt anything else will sway my opinion about this being the best summer movie so far. Personal fave too. Looks like Starscream might bring the gang from Cybertron - look out!! I doubt Megs is dead. I hope they have Jetfire, the Dinobots, Omega Supreme or some of the 5 robot teams that form a giant like the Constructicons, or Aerialbots. There's so many -it's too hard to pick, but my #1 pick is Jetfire.

fair enough, that's kinda what i was thinking, but when i walked out, everyuone was like, soooooo... what's up with the ending, i didn't get it. not just a few people.. ALOT.
but that's basically what i figured and told them, i just wanted to make sure i hadn't entirely missed something.
thanks.

How megatron died was a bit weird. But he'll be back, he was the most intact of the Decepticons, and I was half expecting at the very end of the flick, to hear him say under water "I still function."
But I love how the ending was exactly the same as the end of Thundercats. The whole 'send a message to any Autobots among the stars' bit.

OMG THE MOVIE WAS BEAUTIFUL
Everything I expected and more. Definitely glad no. 2 got greenlighted. I figure Megatron IS pretty resilient. I figure the Allspark's only shut him down temporarily, and soon enough its power will resurge and what not, bringing him back to life (maybe even reformatting him into Galvatron) and having him resurrect one or two other Decepticons. Thats when Starscream will show up with his own armada (including Shockwave and Soundwave and maybe the Constructicons), thinking he's now leader and then it all takes off from there. Maybe a Decepticon Civil War would be nice, with Shockwave, Soundwave, and Devastator breaking off from both groups, the three (or eight, whatever) up against both Decepticon armies, the Autobots, and the government (maybe with a unauthorized rebuilding of Sector Seven in the background to take on all other forces and have power for themselves).
Yeah.
That would be nice.
