Wait, that is something i did not understand, Why did the lugnut supremes become drones? they had allspark fragment.

Well, they had Allspark fragments to power them. They were technically drones because they needed someone to control them. Hence why Lugnut was hooked up to the brain network of the three.

Oh I understand that they were drones, the big question is why. every other allspark fragment transformer was ready to go after activation, but these three needed to be controled. kinda messed up if you ask me

Well, a lot of great points have been brought up....I think perhaps G1 would have the edge though, again, because of experience. TFA might have studied and dreamt about the war, but all of his war-time experience we got to see in the show. G1 supposedly has been fighting for ages before we follow them on earth, and even before the first episode as they leave Cybertron. More importantly, he survived during that long time. A testament to some experience TFA simply hasn't been put to the test with yet (so we can't be sure he's as competent).

So, I guess I go G1. I have some other thoughts, but I'll hold them back for now.

Normal Prime could fly too. He borrowed Sideswipe's jet pack though. Dude, had planned on catching the Decepticon starship by himself, and then fighting all them them inside of it. By himself. Didn't pan out. He took a direct hit from a Warship and crashed to the ground from the atmosphere. Then when asked to see Ratchet he responds with I said I'm fine!

It took all three of them giving him everything they had and an explosion to take down Prime.

Animated Optimus Prime doesn't stand a chance. He's a rookie leader in his universe. He has what? Three years worth of leadership experience? G1 Optimus Prime led the Autobots for a few million years. No way he could be beaten by his Animated version. Movie version would stand a better chance but still fall to G1. It's not even a matter of Geewunn. It's a matter of power, ability, and experience as well as size. If humans are any indication Animated Prime would be looking G1 Prime in the chest.

G1 Prime would totally kick the snot out Animated Prime.
I mean, sure, the animated guy would put up a fight, cause, i mean, he IS optimus, but....

well, has anyone seen the fight between the new and old gozillas?

It'd go kind of like that.

oh, and you're right. Movie prime would eat both of them.

G1 Optimus would win would use the fight to educate the younger mech in fine art of combat. Not to say Animated Prime wouldn't put up a fight he's crafty as they come. Both come out of this the better G1 would come out remember what it's like to be young and just learning the ropes and Animated would come out realize that he's got big shoes to fill but, has the potiental to do it.

I'm now G-whiner, but I say G1 Prime because he is the leader of all Autobots. Animated Prime is the leader of a maintinence crew. Not sure if I spelled maintinence right.

G1 Prime for me. Can withstand an almost infinite amount of punishment, then even if he does get killed, he inevitably gets reincarnated and comes back even stronger.

He still looks cool too, despite being over 9 million years old. G1 Optimus the ultimate geriatric commander!

I'm going with Animated on this one. He may lack in experience, but he makes up with quickness and skill. He's smaller, and that's not necessarily a disadvantage, especially if they're using the terrain in the fight. G1's bigger size also means he's a bit slower and clumsier, and if TFA Prime is a bit lucky, that's all he needs for some well-placed shots. No doubt, it would be a lengthy, bruising fight, but I think in the end TFA Prime would be victorious.
