SDCC '07 - IDW Announces Transformers Movie Sequel Comics and Ramjet Spotlight!

Newsarama has posted their coverage of IDW's panel at the San Diego Comic Con. Much interesting and exciting news was revealed, on the Transformers front IDW announced that they will be publishing sequel stories to the Transformers Movie, the first of which is to be called "The Search for Starscream". These stories will introduce new characters and carry on the story from where the film left off.

Also on the Movie front, Chris Ryall stated that he is penning a new prequel to be included with the DVD release of the Movie later this year.

Lastly, for fans of IDW's take on Transformers Generation 1, IDW announced that an upcoming spotlight issue would focus on the coneheaded Decepticon Ramjet! This one shot will be written by Stuart Moore, and illustrated by Robbie Musso

thats cool this will really balance out the movie for me...i wouldnt mind having something to read that would help to fill the giant gapping holes the movie had.

i also wonder if the second movie would use anything from the comics or will it all be thrown aside.

You know that IDW is going to do a great job of introducing characters, developing them, telling a good story, only to have it all contradicted by the next movie.


They should seriously get Simon Furman to do the script for the next movie. To have them a wee bit fleshed out at least!

This is goooooooood news. Lets hope we get lots of great stories to keep us quiet until TF2 is done.

And the Jamjet spotlight sounds really interesting. I wouldn't have picked him for a spotlight but it might give me some love the conehead.

Well seeing as how Frenzy's head was still kicking and turned into a mobile phone I reckon jazz's upper torso should still have enough mass to become a SMART Car :grin: :grin:
