Shockwave Spotlight Question
I just recieved my Spotlight TPB and after reading the Shockwave spotlight I'm a little confused about how Grimlock can appear in The Gathering after being "buried" with Shockwave and the other Dynobots. The IDW comics seem to fit together for the most part. Are the Beast Wars comics and the others not the same continuity?

Supposedly, the BW is future, and then they go to the past, so there would be a version of him in the ground, and also the one we see trying to kick Magmatron's butt!

what you saw in BW: The Gathering was Future Grimlock (i believe). Remember Beast Wars is in the TF future and went back in time to earth. So did Grimlock it seems.

Different continuities. The BW comic is set in the universe of the original cartoon where as the G1 comic is its own universe where BW may never happen.

Yea It's been said various times by furman that the BW comics are set in the same universe as the BW cartoon. The IDW stuff is it's own different thing.
I think the bigger question is how Swoop is able to look at dinosaur bones and suddenly know what they are and what they must have looked like. Humanity looked at Dinosaur bones and thought Dragons and Giants so how alien robots know beats me.
But hey it's a comic suspension of disbelief is required.

Didn't Grimlock die at the hands of Leige Maximo, written by Furman in that convention thingy a few years ago?
Besides, the Ark didn't crash on Earth in the IDW G1, so the BW can't exsist in the same continuity.

I know as well as anyone that they're separate continuities, but is it possible that if, at some point in the future of IDW's G1, an Ark does crash and the Autobots end up in stasis aboard it, then the Beast Wars can be tied into the IDW-verse?

Not unless the Ark travelled back a few million years before crashing.

That's what I was thinking. If an Ark travelled back via transwarp, a la the Axalon or, better yet, if there's already an Ark that has crashed on Earth in the IDW universe and they just haven't discovered it yet. Is there anything in "The Gathering" that specifies what crew was aboard the Ark?
