its always kind of left in the air as to whos the better of these two. shockwave has dominated a weakend megatron in the comics, and hes always shown as being on the same level in terms of strength and firepower. so if these two were to throw down, to settle it once and for all what would happen? if you think megatron would win give me a practical reason.

megatron is an easy choice becuase he is the leader, hes more military minded and he has a much greater lust for power. he would fight with rage and ignore any damage to himself until the fight was over. but shockwave brings a whole different set of traits to the fight.

hes cold and logical, no matter what happened hed keep his calm, he wouldnt make a mistake and he wouldnt be intimidated. hed have noo doubt prepaired for the fight long ago in case it happened. and when he needs to he can really cut loose. in his idw oneshot he took on all the dinobots at once, and after realising that their rage gave them strength he let himself go and fought with the same primal anger.

he even took down prime, and magnus in dreamwave. granted, prime wasnt in the best shape and magnus did get back up later on, but its still a huge feat. had he not been on a deadline he could have easily finished off magnus, and prime wasnt all that far below 100%.

so who take is? its a fight to the death, shockwave wont decide the risks outweigh the rewards and call it off.

Draw, this fight could go either way.

Megatron wins because Shockwave's logical thinking would in turn defeat him. Shockwave would fight Megatron move for counter move and anticipate attacks ahead of time. It would go on until Megatron finally was in full battle rage. That is when Megatron would start thinking outside the box and defeat him. Assuming that Shockwave is using radioactive fuel to keep him charged otherwise he would run out of fuel before Megatron and then Megatron would crush him. Either way I go with Megatron.

Well this would be one heck of a battle although in the end I would say Megatron would win. Shockwave as powerfull as he is lacks the same inovation that Megatron has and has less stamina. Shockwave has always been carefull not to take on a fully powered Megatron although nearly equal in both firepower and strength he knows that a fully powered Megatron is still stronger and faster than he is and his logic center wouldn't be able to prepare him for what would be considered illogical and innovative attacks that Megatron would devise in order to bring Shockwave down in a most final and brutal manner. Winner Megatron.

Remember that first fight for Leadership was won by Shockwave. So then second one Megatron won. Its a battle I wanna see, in full detail, and not as short as Megatrons fight with prime in 20th Anniversary movie.

Even in the comics, it's explained that Shockwave's power is "second only to Megatron's." So Megatron would pwn Shockwave all things being equal.

I think it comes down to the logic problem. If Megatron does something wild and 'illogical' I don't know if Shockwave would be able to find a counterattack. Since Shockwave is second power wise to Megatron, I think there would be a decent match strenght-wise, but the first one to do something crazy should win, and so I pick Megatron.

Well peeps, consider this, Shockwave is capable of turning his logic circuits off. He did this in his spotlight issue to defeat the Dinobots.

True Shockwave did but that would only raise his chances of of possibly surviving but not enough to defeat Megatron remember Megatron never has to rely on his logic cirtcuits during battle over all Megatron is still the more powerful of the two even with Shockwave turning off his logic circuits, Megatron is still the more innovative fighter and his reflexes are still faster than Shockwave not to mention his stamina is still greater. Megatron would still emerge victorious over Shockwave it would just take Megatron a little longer to defeat Shockwave. Winner still Megatron

This would be one hell of a battle. I would say Megatron for the reasons stated above, but if Shockwave did turn off his logic centres and become 'angry', don't forget his transformed mode is extremely powerful. And megs can't really transform in this fight unless it went something like:

M: Shockwave. A greater threat is approaching. Prepare to recieve.

S: Yes Megatron.

Megs transforms.

M: Now. There is a dangerous infection in your brain that will terminate the entire universe. You must use me to destroy yourself. Then, I'll repair you. I guarentee. It's the only logical thing to do.

Perhpas we will see this fight in the movie sequal.

If Shocwave is as logical as we all seem to think wouldn't he take into account that Megatron would do something crazy and illogical, after all logic would dictate that he would prepare himself for all possibilities.

I say Shockwave wins.

That is true in theory however even his logic circuits wouldn't be able to prepare him for whatever innovative attacks Megatron would use in practicallity as unfortunely logic can't prepare it self for chaotic attack patterns and that is why Shockwave needed to shut down his logic circuits when in th IDW spotlight in order to defeat the dinobots.

Besides his logic circuits would also tell him that to take on a fully powered Megatron is too high of a risk and so Shockwave would bide his time untill Megatron was in a more vulnerable and weakened condition before attempting to battle Megatron to the death after all that would be the most logical course of action reguarding someone as powerfull and as dangerous as we all know Megatron to be.

In issue 25 of the marvel seriesof transformers Shockwave admits to himself that Megatron is too dangerous to take on and consquently he hires the Predacons to hunt and destroy Megatron which they failed to do so even as Predaking.

That wasn't really Megatron anymore, he had parts of Straxus' mind in him.

Shockwave and the Predacons were completely in cahoots with the Cybertron Decepticons on that one (as explained in the UK comics).

Shockwave initialy wanted to make it seem that Optimus Prime killed Megatron, however the plan backfired in #97 and both Prime and Megatron ended up on Cybertron. A bold move since the Decepticons were pretty much divided in two camps of loyalists among the Decepticons.

Hence why I picked a draw for the outcome.

This very much depends on the situation. Are they at full power or not? Are they injured? How much prep have they done? Are they calm or angry? There are so many factors!

I think that Megs would have a shutdown code but Shockers could find a way to block it.

If the shutdown code is negated, M could appeal to S's logic. He could even change his future plans to appease S.

S wouldn't attack M without a very good reason. Once he starts, he's unlikely to stop voluntarily. He would've examined the whole situation rationally.

S would use his radiation powers to try to weaken M but this wouldn't be very effective because M plans for such eventualities.

This basically comes down to blasting and possibly the black hole weapon. M is a little stronger but he would still be hard pressed. M would have extra weapons available to chip away at S. Some kind of paralyser would be very handy. M would rather have S captured than dead, unless he was a lost cause.

In the end, M would probably edge a victory but the surrounding area would be in ruins and there could easily be a lot of casualties. That could be bad news for the Decepticon Army. M and S would both need repairs. S might be dead.
