While these are funny reviews he does have valid points, well thought out points and I can't wait for Episode III.
Those reviews freaking hilarious and nails it on the head.
They are, you should check out all of his stuff, oh and don't ask for any Pizza Rolls, nothing nice will come of it...
Oh yeah, it is nice to know what exactly was wrong with all the TNG movies. Also, I'm steering clear of the Taj Mahal casino.

The Force is not midichlorians and no one ever said they were. Qui-Gon actually said midichlorians "help us hear the will of the Force." They aren't the Force, they're just the means to channel it.

I never understood how people got to that conclusion. The force is like a radio signal and the midichlorians are like an antenna.

The following is my opinion... but it's shared by others. So it might have some basis in fact. Mileage varies, natch.
The original trilogy is modern myth, both action-packed and deep. It will leave you laughing one moment, breathless from the high-paced action the next and shocked in another. The effects were bleeding-edge then, still hold up incredibly well today and, in some respects, are better because they are models, with weight and substance to them.
It is the classic hero's journey, following Luke from boyhood to manhood. He learns, he grows. He is not perfect, but that makes it all the better. What he does at the end of Return of the Jedi is awe-inspiring.
And there's not just him. The entire cast is memorable, from the dashing rogue Han Solo to the feisty action girl princess Leia. darth Vader, Tarkin, Palpatine, Lando, Kenobi, Yoda... it is a deep cast. With good and evil and some gray inbetween.
The action is intense, well-done. Endor remains one of the best space battles in cinematic history and might never be surpassed. Yavin is classic dogfighting in the best traditions. And Leia never misses a shot.
But there's steak to the gravy, too, as we see Palpatine and Vader vying for Luke, to seduce him to the Dark Side. The fight in the emperor's throneroom is one for the ages as Luke's soul is at stake. In the end, though, good triumphs as Luke does the impossible and throws away his lightsaber.
Oh, did I mention lightsabers being one of the coolest weapons ever? Just for the record.
Anyway... The original trilogy holds up well today, almost better than when it came out. I have watched it a hundred times. I shall probably watch it a hundred more.
I'll admit the preceding was a bit rambling. My apologies, but it comes from the heart.

I didn't realize that I said the force was midicholorians(there is no mention of midichlorians in my posting), but I sense that there is a strong inclination to defend Star Wars, probably because of the tone of the original post, so I will just make my peace and bow out of the discussion. It's all good by me.

I have a hard time watching any version of the OT without being bored. To me the prequels are better namely due to do the fact that Lucas shows HOW the Star Wars Universe works, which is always more interesting to me. I was much intrigued by the political intrigue, the problems in the Jedi Order, and the simple fact of how a democracy falls into a dictorship (which is far more frightening than anything else in the whole series) than anything with Luke, Leia, and Han.
I recently watched all 6 films in chronological order and quite honestly by the time I got to episode V I was bored with it. (Once they get Cloud City it's just a sci-fi version of El Dorado with a bittersweet ending) by the time I got to 6 all I wanted was the movie to be over. Yet I could still watch episodes 2 and 3 and NOT be bored with them.

They're just like "Hey, mister are you gonna save us?" *pulls out lightsaber* "horay!" Then how he goes on a rampage and slaughters all the federation leaders in their own hide out! One of the most epic scenes in movie history! Just the whole Mustifar scene is great. Then, to see Anikin burn, not that I don't like him, or enjoy watching people burn... ok, maybe a little, but just to see how everything comes full circle in the prequels to match perfectly into the originals. Thats why I love the prequels, because everything is explained and connects to the original ones in every way.

SlyTF1 wrote:THIS! This is exactly how I feel about the whole series. Episode 4 is IMO the worst. I mean, the action is so bad! When Obi-wan and Vader fight, they sit there and just tap lightsabers together, not even fighting. They just...tap. Episode 5 is by far the best of the original trilogy, but I still feel bored watching it. What I want to know, is whats so great about it? Its basically the first one but with more explosions, and Darth Vader's identity being revealed. Episode 6 is just boring. Its not great, not horrible, just boring. Episode 1 is...IDK. I don't really have an opinion weather its good or bad. Its definately not bad, but it's not somthing you watch over and over from beginning to end. I say it's better than episode 6, but just below episode 5. Episode 2 is awesome, just plain awesome. Episode 3 is...damn. Best Star Wars ever. Everything ties together with episode 4 perfectly. And the Clone Wars movie...I like it better than episode 4, but that's it. Maybe right ontop of six, but slightly lower. IDK, I liked it, but it was too short, and no General Grevious!!! He was like the whole reason I loved the first cartoon and the beginning of episode 3!

So you like the Jedi and Sith hopping around like monkeys on crack rather than there being substance to their fights. Obi-Wan versus Vader in ANH was a hundred times better than the damned wire-fu going on in the PT.

Yes. Thats why I liked the prequels. Why would I want to see bullshit realistic fighting, when the point of movies is to separate you from the real world, thats full of crap and has no intrest at all? Thats why I don't like fighting games, thats why I don't like fighting movies. How could you not like them jumping ans spinning around? Honestly, its boring as hell watching 2 people tap their lightsabers together.
RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Because first off, they weren't 'tapping' their lightsabers together. Second off, there was more weight behind their fight than all the PT battles put together.
Prequel battles were significantly more complex and fluid. That's what makes them so much more interesting.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Third, OT Vader would've slaughtered his younger version.

Vader spends an entire chapter of the book Rise of Darth Vader reflecting on how all of his abilities have been nerfed because of his suit. He has to win fights based on overpowering strength and manipulation of the Force rather than skill with a Lightsaber. That's how Luke was able to beat him, because, by his own admission, he was no good at Lightsaber combat in his suit.
He even has an ability where as long as he holds concentration, he can actually increase his abilities to what they were before his immolation, but the sudden excitement at being able to move freely again tends break his concentration, so he doesn't use it often.
