Megatron isn't a normal transformer.....

You're right, he's a Transformer who can survive the cold of space and deep space, but can't handle snow.

Please, please, for the love of all things. Tell me you're joking.

I just don't get why people are arguing a single-pilot craft can keep up workable temperatures in space, but a 40ft robot can't.

Exactly Luke would freeze to death before the end of the battle
1. robots dont feel cold
2. the snow and ice would probably freeze his circuits
Nasa wrote:If we put a thermometer in darkest space, with absolutely nothing around, it would first have to cool off. This might take a very very long time. Once it cooled off, it would read 2.7 Kelvin. This is because of the "3 degree microwave background radiation." No matter where you go, you cannot escape it -- it is always there.
DesalationReborn wrote:The only reasoning I can find for the whole ice thing is either he was really weak and either vulnerable or in sleep, or the water itself actually did something to screw with his internals, maybe a combo of both. Then again, it's just a movie, so it could be magic ice. Generally a director only tries to please what the general public knows in terms of realism.
I would say Megatron would probably wing, considering his unorthodox tactics in his jet mode. I doubt many combatants are ready to directly slam into their opponents in a dogfight.

unique_username wrote:it depends at what point in his training luke is. if he has full use of the force and its later in his life he is the most powerful force user in existence. palpatine could destroy an entire armada with a force storm, so luke should have no trouble.
if its a straight dogfight im not sure. luke would still have jedi reflexes to help him and the firepower in star wars is off the scale. im inclined to vote luke, megatron seemed to use his vehicle mode like a person uses a car, its a way for him to quickly get from point a to point b, and then the transforms and tears point b apart. hes probably skilled in vehicle mode, but luke is one of the best pilots out there, and he has the force guiding his aim, evasion, and giving him a heads up on most danger.
as for the megatron freezing in space/ice thing, maybe he sufferent some kind of damage on the way down that skrewed up his temperature shielding systems, or maybe he can handle extremes in temperature, but the sudden change from cold, to heat when entering the atmosphere and then the sudden cold put him in stasis, and then the cold temperatures in the arctic kept him there becuase his systems cant fully activate in cold temperatures. or something.

Yeah, this is the Luke after the movies. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker

I'm calling five seconds to "Banhammering."
Morons and pathetic simplicity.
Megatron's new movie mode is of a Terrestrial Jet, one not designed for space flight, or the necessary maneuvers in such an environment. Without the ability to snap roll in space or perform any number of standard for starfighter maneuvers turns this in Skywalkers favor, Nuclear Torpedoes notwithstanding, High Mega-to low-gigaton Laser Cannons fully in play.
