Here is something strange. According to Imdb, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will be playing Mikaela Banes and there is another actress (Micaela Johnson) who will play "Sam's girl".

Micaela Johnson is totally unpopular and I've never heard a news that she's been cast for the movie. Here is some bio for the girl:

Imdb is not the best reliable source for info because sometimes they post information even if it is not confirmed. So let's hope that this is not true and Rosie will not play Mikaela. And this other girl looks too shallow.

Last we heard was that Mikaela is gone, and Sam has a new love interest. Bay wouldn't hire a new actress just long enough to get rid of her character and not use her at all.

Funny, I just caught this same fact on IMDB myself. That's quite the coincidence that there is a character Mikaela and and actress named Micaela not playing the character of the "same" name.

Coincidence aside, I'll be happy if Rosie takes over the role of Mikaela, because I would rather deal with the "re-cast" than have to sit through them explaining why all the relationship-building in the first two movies all went to pot and how Sam found a new girl who could also so flawlessly accept both his dorkiness and his friendship/feud with giant alien robots.

I quote (paraphrasing) Mikaela from ROTF:

"Who else could be your girlfriend?"

With all the time devoted to Sam and Mikaela and their use (or not) of the "l-word", that relationship better carry on. I would rather have more screen time for our favorite robots than have to deal with a break-up and rebound relationship subplot. Just re-cast and let the show go on!!!

Hmmmm... naw.
She will never be Mikaela in my book.
