The two groups don't fight together. They're assigned different missions.
And they each answer to different authorities.

Nice sidestep. So in whatever continuity you are talking about no autobot has ever served with both the wreckers and the elite guard at different times , and might have picked up both unit badges?

I think I see what's going on here. The bolded part clears this up. I was under the impression you were asking why one couldn't be member of both at the same time, rather than at different times.njb902 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I wasn't referring to the Aligned Continuity versions.njb902 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The two groups don't fight together. If one wanted to leave one group and join up with the other, then by all means, that's fine. Though, I'd imagine they'd swap out the former team's insignia for the new one's, to illustrate their new allegiance (since ex-members haven't been shown that often to keep their old ones when joining a new group).

Well, at first, I was thinking of Wings Universe (in which the Elite Guard answered to Magnum, who was a character whose entire life and death predated the existence of Ultra Magnus) since this is Fun Pub and its their main Elite Guard universe.njb902 wrote:Btw what continuity are you talking about, and what continuity does this figure belong to?
But, now that they've changed this toy from being an Elite Guard Ironfist to a non-EG Ironfist... it could be either IDW Ironfist or a new FOC Ironfist.

That's pretty much the issue with most of the TFSS figures: we don't know. The only ones we can definitely pin down to specific continuities are Jackpot, Ultra Magnus/Mammoth, Breakdown, and maybe Treadshot.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

Doesn't look Bad. Some more of that light blue would've been nice.
Surprising how it lacks the Energon Harvester.
The mold still sucks though. Very unfortunate for Ironfist.

i know "fisitron" was the anagram of idw's ironfist. and that dude was not part of the elite guard. he was a primal vanguard enthusiast though.

It's not bad but it's still a crappy mold. I don't see this being a big seller. They better have some really awesome figures coming, or the subscription service is gonna flop this year.

Why are people dissing on the Swindle mold? It's probably one of the better FOC Combaticon molds, and the Roadbuster version (which this toy uses) feels FAR more solid and put together than the original Swindle version did.

Re: TFSS 2.0 Fisitron Revealed
I'm with the other guys above, sadly. Swindle was a really hollow, oddly-angled, shell-former-feeling, too-tall, shoulders sitting in the wrong place, waist-too-low, oddly proportioned figure. It wasn't TERRIBLE, but it had its problems. Also, the head sculpt didn't have the G1 feel. Wasn't square enough and was missing the nose piece coming down from the top — both of which I feel define Swindle's head. It instead looked too bucket-head-y. I'm calling it a 3/5, IMHO.
Mind you, at least its blasters didn't point at the ground on an undersized figure with the gestalt head out in the open... or have a load of extra fins all over... or weird waist kilt-looking flaps and a non-g1-paint-scheme-like-a-diaper-smear. Sheesh. Still holding out for a decently colored Vortex. I loved Brawl, but admittedly he wasn't very bulky compared with his earlier versions. Tight, clean tank though... and cool purple jet details.
BUT given the economy, FOC Bruticus WAS pretty decent all around. Good size and holds together. I REALLY like getting video game bots and cybertron modes. Liked the 3rd ground mode for Brawl... and almost all the color schemes were cool. (save Vortex. poor Vortex.) (I'll save my rant on the gorilla arms at different lengths.)
Wreckers seem a little half-baked, but glad to see them taking notice and making those characters. Sculpts for the heads are good.
Getting an extra Wrecker to swap out is awesome. Hope they one-up it and do Rotorstorm too, which admittedly would have to be a new head. Totally worth it and great to display with this guy... and/or on the Botcon 2010 set with Pyro/Clench and friends.
That said, still hoping for Hauler, Sparkcrusher (maybe in the main Hasbro line?) and SG Ramjet. I like the idea of Red Wing, too. But I digress.
Bravo for Ironfist. Stick closely to the G1 colors and we have a winner. (I'm against the washed out comic colors. I think it would be a flop, like the pastel iGear minibots wave.)

Lol, i just saw this & i beg to differ. your standard operating procedures can and will keep your aft alive when the slag hits the rotors. although certain situations may call for some unorthodox tactics, a warfighter should never abandon their battle principals just because they fear for their lives. that's the quickest was to lose it. or worse, cause a buddy to lose theirs cuz someone went loose cannon. but to each his own i guess. our combat experience in country may have differed greatly. as long as you came back with life and limb intact it ain't my place to hate on how you did it. but don't go puttin those ideas in the youths heads lol.

Of course you have to follow military protocol, I was exaggerating to get my point across, unfortunately I choose my words poorly. Orders and sop's are there for a good reason and should be followed, but sometimes creative interpretation are necessary. Because in the end the "book" doesn't cover everything and combat is a great way to ruin any plan.

Aww, and here I was hoping the Roadbuster mold meant he'd get the really big gun... otherwise we could just call it Swindle... oh well. Ironfist just needs a really big gun.
All things considered, I am now glad I held off on Rb. Just hoping for a good repaint of another component to go with Topspin Twin Twist, and Imp[actor.
Funny how people are wanting an Emirate Xaaron figure, isn't hat who's head is sticking out of Impactor's aft?

When did we see SG Ramjet? Dirge was the yellow and black one, and I'd LOVE a release of him, even as a dual purpose SG Dirge/Filler Seeker mold like they've done in the past. Knowing them though, FunPub would probably repurpose the G2 Rammy they did for SG. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose...
Red Wing?
Who'd be Hauler? we know there aren't any Voytagers in 2.0 (maybe 3.0?)I've given up on the Inferno mold, three domestic releases and I never once saw any of them in stores. No Inferno, (and I like the Energon version) No Grappel, neversaw a single Hot SPot at TRU (and that was the one of the three I really wanted to go with my Voyager/ULtra Silverbolt, Onslaught, Razorclaw) and the botcon version of Pyro didn't grab me either. But then, I want to repaint a VOyager DOTM Sentinel as Pyro since they're both based on Airport fire engines.
they've ruled out Energon as viable molds so that's a no to Energon Roadblock as hauler too...
