There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

I'm almost 100% sure Beast Wars takes place in the micro-continuity explained on the back of a pack of Optimus Prime pencils I got when I was 4.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

When people call kicker an annoying useless plot device. First of all, plot? Seriously? Secondly, the "annoying" part. He's not really MORE annoying than the Armada kids, is he? Or Daniel? I'm just saying, we've had worse.

It's less that he's "annoying" than he is "spiteful". He was a mean-spirited, obnoxious jerk through and through.

Sorry but you are flat out wrong.

The issue is not vague in the slightest.............the inclusion of elements from both continuities [G1 toon & G1 comic] completely rule out the possibility that Beast Wars was directly connected to either continuity.

The only logical answer is that BW stems from a G1 continuity that shares parts from both continuities rolled into 1.

We have beef. Kicker was the worst thing that ever was in the TF mythos. And I am well aware of 'Danno'.

Shattered Glass gets a pass because that's its gimmick, but otherwise the Autobots wage their battle to destroy the [b]evil[/i] forces of the Decepticons, and some people need to stop thinking it's the other way around.

I'm sorry, I know that this thread had been the site of quite a disagreement, and I'm not trying to add to that, but this segues into some of my peeves.

As ol' Optimus would say, freedom is the right of all sentient beings. That freedom via sentience would extend to those of thought and interpretation. Via those two faculties, it is conceivable that one could identify the Decepticons as, at very least, not-bad guys if not even not bad at all guys. No being self-identifies as evil, but rather is identified as being evil via the perceptions of others owing to the actions or ideals of those who would be observed and thus judged.
I know that the cartoon jingle and various packaging lists the Decepticons as the evil faction, and in terms of a fiction which requires a bunch of good guys and a bunch of bad guys, I can understand. But I don't buy the idea that a group of fictional characters are categorically broken into good and evil absolute sections, because as a piece of fiction which thus has no real-world ramifications for my doing so, I choose to interpret said fictitious elements as I would, via the exercise of the freedom Optimus told me I could have.

I also support the Empire. And when people have told me that makes me a terrible person in real life, I've smiled and thanked them for their interpretation.

Which plays into my own peeve: I hate it when people act like all the existent possibilities rest with what the company has decided. There have been arguments here and on other boards about people who rename figures or switch them out of subgroups or whatnot, and I don't care about that. I realize that characters have official designations for marketing and storyline reasons, but if I purchase it, I can call it whatever I want. I'm not forcing it on others, so I'm not sure why others feel the need to tell me how they want me to organize my little fan world.

Except for times when a Megatron would say things like "My evil will reign supreme!" and such. ;)

Unicron Trilogy cartoon Megatron, for example.

EDIT: Even Beast Wars Megatron considers himself objectively evil, per the famous line of "Say goodbye to the universe, Maximals. The future has changed, yes! The Autobots lose! Evil triumphs! And you... YOU! NO LONGER EXIST!"

Uh...the Empire is straight-up evil. They blew up an entire planet just to prove that they could.

But to each his own. I mean, this this case, your own is provably wrong but hey, whatevs.

Now can we get off the debate of the last few pages and onto something new that irks people?

If going off topic irks you, then technically we've been on-topic this whole time. Thus, it shouldn't irk you.

Also, tying in with what Dagon said, when people try to use their own fanfic elements against official canon. I can "interpret" the sky is purple, that doesn't make it so.

That's very true. But, We are dealing with a fictional universe, and so if one were to create their own fanfic-based version of that universe, it doesn't do any harm. Provided that fanfic universe is not forced on the actual canon one. In my own personal view of any fictional universe, so long as I don't make you or anyone else adhere to the rules I've self-invented, I'm hardly harming anyone.
If my fanmode Shockwave is irrational and stupid, that's really ok, because I'm not making you or anyone else play by my fanmode Shockwave.
I'm familiar with Transformers official canon. And I have my own things. And somehow, magically, I've been able to keep them separate and not apply my fanon to the official version that is accepted by all people.
In a fictional universe, I can indeed "interpret" the sky to be purple, and it really makes no difference so long as I keep it to myself. Because it's a fictional universe.

I'm also irked by the typical first episode/new character thing where everyone says the names of other characters repeatedly, if you want to climb on that too. I know why they do it, but I find it annoying. I'm thinking of the first episode of Beast Wars, when they pretty much go around the room and mention themselves by name when they reformat into their beast modes. Again, I completely understand why shows or series' or whatever does that, but I'm not a fan of it.

Kinda makes me wonder about which TF shows, comics, and movies have all used an Introdump in some form. ;)

Most of them do, if not all, probably. Like I said, I know why they do it, and I understand it's necessary for a variety of reasons whether commercial or for characterization and all of that. But I still find it annoying.

just a heads up guys, but sometimes the sky is purple.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast.
