Godmodule wrote:brokendan wrote:out how tall are the 1/100 gundam wing models?
Depends on the particular Mecha. Normally, between 7.5 and 8 inches (about the size of a Voyager class TF), however some are about 10 in or more. Like the Nu gundam is about 9, the Sazabi about 11, and the Perfect Zeong is about 15-16. 1/60 are about 12-15 in.

Well I myself assembled Raider gundam and i'm really suprised at how damn poseable high grade models are (comparing them with those non grade 8 euro kits is hardly fair) not to mention dang good looking without the need for any paint.
Anyway now i'm thinking of painting (using those cheap ass figures as practice material). Do you have any advice/tips on do's and don't when it comes to gundam painting?

actually advice depends on how you want your style to be. I use the "no paint" method, which is really popular in Japan right now. It's getting a painted look, without painting. It deals with a lot of using clearcotes, rubbing/light sanding, and detailing with G-markers. However, the end results are very impressive. MG kits look great with no paint at all to be honest. Just panel lines, and you've got a great model!

Agreed. As a casual modeller who sucks at painting in general, I've found Bandai's continuing effort toward accurate molding to be a godsend.
Now me, I'm not into a huge ammount of fuss when it comes to assembly. I think the most complex kit I own currently is a MG God Gundam, which I'm pretty sure isn't much compared some of the newer UC kits (and nothing to a PG, which I doubt I could even justify the expenditure on...). Of course, often I just stick to things like MSIA's and their ilk, as they hold up a helluva' lot better in actual play (though I've yet to personally demolish a kit so far).
Though I HAVE been eyeing the new MG Zaku kits a bit, perhaps for some time down the road...

I believe the term is "Extended".
"Advance" applies to the first run of the cosmic era suits.

I've been eyeing the thing for a while and once I get money I plan to get it.
I already like the HG version, I just want to know about the MG though.

He's awesome. Really. A little back heavy when not on the stand, but no more than the ailestriker. I bought mine and put all others on hold and built him ASAP. I even held up my Hi-Nu for him, who I swore I wouldn't build until I built the others in the closet first.

Doesn't the Strike Noir have sword-chucks??
Because that's bonus points.

No
But what it does have is is, two short AS swords, two rail cannons, wired metal thingies coming from it's back, arms, and legs, two beam rifles that were oringinally used by the Dual,
and to top it all off, two kick ass bitchin' beam pistols for dual wielding fun!
But yea, it does need sword chucks in there.

Quoted for truth.
I built the 1/100th HG Deathscythe Hell then a MG Freedom Gundam (no transfers yet but will post pics), the difference in quality really pleased me for the difference in price. Plastic is better, parts fit better, poseability is better, detail...heck everything is better.
Pity there aren't more of them. I'd really like to see a MG Cgue.
