Speaking of the 'tron...
I was reading up on the show on Wikipedia and they had the episode listing on there, which lead to an eye opening fact...
If we go based on the names of the episodes as any indication...it'll be 11-12 weeks (weeks! episodes!) before we actually see Megatron in full Earth Mode.
If that's the case, then not only the toyline, but the show planning is run by idiots.
Now I'm sure they'd have their reasons, but wow. I uh...TWELVE WEEKS?! -_-

Yeah...I wasn't happy to see that either, but he is already showing his malice while just a head.....building the anticipation to see what he's like when he gets a body! I am SO hoping he's gonna live up to it!

Two other bots in the past had their sparks in their heads:
* TM2 Dinobot (his beast head became his Robot Mode's chest, but I doubt spark chambers can move, so it would be in his head in beast mode)
* BM Grand Mal Megatron (his entire body was just a head, so he had no choice but to have it in his head)

Yeah, exactly.

Plus somehow it's actually creepier like this... a malevolent mind trying to manipulate events to go his way... they are called Decepticons, after all.

The next few episodes may not bode well for you friend. I think the series does improve from the... 7th episode onward if I remember the order right. The dinobot one is kinda 50-50 though.Grendel wrote:not a fan so far, but who knows, maybe the series will improve, i wasn't a fan of beast wars or armada when they first began, then they got better

oh, I consider this Prime more of a powerless Sups and Prowl more the batman with a power. BB is cheetor, Ratchet is a good mix of Ironhide/Kup/Trailbreaker while Bulkhead is Rhinox's unused hulk/thing bio.
Basically If there not featuring another TF.. thought i'm iffy on Dinobots and Soundwave eps, I'm thinking you personally might not like them.

"Sups". Who?

Prowl is a very down-to-earth Batman
BB's also got some Rattrap and Jazz in him. He messes with Prowl like how Rattrap messed with Dinobot, and he's all into pop culture like (G1 and Movie) Jazz.
I agree about Ratchet, except for the Trailbreaker bit I don't get that.
To me, Bulkhead is Patrick Star, but with a higher IQ, muscle, and a wrecking ball pair.

I liked the episode,it was a pleasant surprise after I read the episode guide of it.
The slumber party-thing: it was handled relatively quickly, didn't took much from the episode.
I like this version of Megatron! More menacing then ever on animation!
Prowl: Took a better turn after the first episode. Now he is a ninja-Tigatron.

He meant Supes, as in Superman.
Ratchet has force fields reminiscient of Trailbreaker's fields, but that is the only connection.

Certain things are bound to always change from one series to another, and that's just the way things go. However other formula-based points should NEVER be touched.
Bumblebee from this series is totally misguided. This should be a seperate character all-toghether. Bumblebee has never been in the series SINCE G1/Movie... and now he's back in the series again yet.. its not... Bumblebee. it IS Cheetor/Rattrap and all those vane idiots.. but it's just not what BB is supposed to be. This is WHY they never used the BB for the longest time because FEW can peg him right. Dan Gilvezan was the best voice for him, but beyond voice all you have to do to be BB is to be HUMBLE and kind, and BRAVE as ****.. They have this BB jumpy as all get-out and CRASS.. oh my did he so remind me of Sunstreaker when he says "I make this Look GOOD!". NO!!!
(Slaps the writers HARD across their cowls)
Beachcomber somehow got fused into Prowl's bio? WtF?!?!
I'm Sorry but Prime is not 19 years old (as he sounds) and he DOES seem like a powerless Superman. Geeze. He's NOT Prime.. he' just ... THERE.
Optimus Prime has to have a commanding presense with a friendly disposition yet Balls and Charm all at the same time.
I don't see that happening.
You can change a LOT about any show and have it come out redeemable... but NOT this. I would rather be smacked in the face with Armada Dvds all day than to have to be subjected to this bile crap.
I'm sorry but this is the FIRST TransFormers show I actually LOATHE.
Horrid.

The animated movie special was pretty good. especially with all the G1 treats. Prime watching "transformers history", the G1 transforming noise, spike, carly, and daniel eating hot dogs. i was actually pretty happy with it...until i saw saturday's episode. absolutely stupid. it's exactly what i thought this series was gonna turn into. autobot sleepover? yeah...this series is definitely geared toward the younger crowd. i'll still watch it just in hopes we do get some decent episodes.

Aren't you being a little harsh AncientSpark? I wouldn't say the movie Bumblebee was like him either, he seemed to have the same attitude as Animated Bumblebee.
The only point I see is your take on Optimus Prime being as different as he is, I think he is the best Prime since G1/Beast wars. This time through we can have a Prime with depth in his character and "actual" character devolpment on a Prime character to become more fitting into his role. All of the previous Primes were already fearless self sacrificing leaders to begin with.

Re: The Official Transformers: Animated Discussion Thread!
I will say that I appreciate that the show is taking its time and not throwing 546 Transformers at us at once. Instead they are developing the characters in more than the first episode, and only a select few characters at that. And they aren't gonna have the same old song and dance like they did in G1: Decepticons try to get energy or a weapon, Autobots confront them, Decepticons retreat. No, this one is gonna make us anticipate each battle and, barring the whole healing key thing, make us wonder what kind of carnage is going to occur.
It's really kiddie, and because of that I'll always prefer comics to cartoons, but at least they are attempting SOME kind of characterization, albeit overstated for the younger audience.

So I was curious and started browsing cars that Bumblebee could've been based on...because he looks like a cross between a Ford Focus and a Smart car. And then I found this:

A rather scrunched Ford Focus.
To me, BB look like one of those really small British cars, don't know the name.

Re: The Official Transformers: Animated Discussion Thread!
I found this thread and thought "hey I wonder if thats on my On-demand". Sure enough it was, man I love having digital cable. I just got done watching the pilot episode. Honestly I'm pretty impressed, looks like it might be the best TF series since Beast Wars.
It almost seems like a combination of G1, Beast Wars, and the new movie, with Kevin Smith Clerks the animated series animation. while the animation is very good, the style i'm not crazy about. The characters are way too over-exaggerated. But as far as animation itself, it is very good. The Autobots remind me of the Maximals from Beast Wars. The Allspark is the allspark from the movie, Megatron is movie Megatron. Starscream is straight G1...where did they get that voice from? He acctually sounds like Chris Latta! Is that his son voicing him or something? About time we didn't have a Krusty the clown sounding starscream!
I'm looking foward to more episodes. Finally the pokemon-little kid anime thing is over! Thank god!

Wow well I'm impressed. Who would of thought Spongebob Squarepants was really Chris Lata Re-incarnated? But it was more than just the voice that made him Starscream it was his plotting against megatron, and desperation to lead the decepticons...though this starscream seemed to have a bit bigger balls than G1 starscream. At least it seemed that way this episode, but who knows yet we really haven't gotten enought time to get to know the decepticons yet.
But yeah I do think that might have been my favorite part of the show. the whole Unicron trilogy did nothing but disgrace one of the most popular characters in TF history! They gave him a krusty the clown voice, and made him this bad guy with compassion who looks up to his leader, wants his leader to be proud of him, and at the same time wants to be a good guy. I know he sacrificed himself in Armada, and then came back with amnesia in Energon, and well I never finished Energon, and I only watched one episode of cybertron, so I have no idea where they took his character. I just know when he first spoke in Armada, I was immediatly pissed off.
Starscream's voice might be everybit as recognizable as Optimus Prime's voice. And i understand that Chris latta is deceased, so theres not much they can do about that, however they can definilty do a better job than they have been. I thought his one line in the movie was pretty good, and Animated, well, this is the best Starscream yet! Anymore new episodes yet?

What is it about Animated Transformers, their shape... their form their design... I don't understand why is so accepted, they don't look like transformers... yes I like innovation and to create new stuff, but this to be hones, and personal opinion; is a joke to us... just my humble comment, I just don't like them at all

Well in the movie he sounded close to his Armada self, but I think for all movie formers they wanted them to all have a deep voice.

For me, it's been the animation style. The writing and acting has been okay for the moment, but I'm still not sold on the Jay Leno "Gobots" style.
