ah bugger it, have the last say, I can't be bothered arguing, you just prove my point that you don't know when to quit.

I never understood why some people just won’t quit in a debate. One person try to start a flamewar by replying to me even though I said I was done with them. I remember getting in debate with one person and we were going back and forth. I got tired of the debate and told them I was done with them, but they still reply back (instead of ignoring me). I add in more fire by replying back too.when I should’ve ignore them like I was supposed to.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black
And this is the childish behavior I’m referring to, if you truly wanted to be done with it and wanted somebody to ignore you you wouldn’t turn around and send them six private messages on the same topic

https://imageshack.com/user/stovokor2000Hey
What you really want is to continue arguing and bring yourself some attention
Perhaps now you’re done embarrassing the both of us and you’re willing to let it go, But my guess is that you won’t be able to control the urge and will either reply here or in yet another private message

This is a bit off topic, but I always heard how the Sonic fan base is the worse. I don’t know if that’s true? Is it?

Not when it comes to toxicity I believe, BUT it does have a side that most people would NOT be comfortable with. Any fandom does really, but any that is big, has a lot of people making fan art, fanfiction and whatnot that may not adhere to proper norms and values is a prime target for uhm... I don't know what to call them as I usually don't engage them.

I personally think it's a negative mind set. But over all I feel its descent.
Example G1'ers I come from that generation, but there are those that cannot accept there are other generations out there.
Being open-minded without having to disagree is a long-standing issue for many of fandoms.
We will always have a few people that refuse to accept things. Unfortunately like posts before me, they can at times be the loudest among us. Those that can accept others views don't argue, and it allows that loud opinion to take center stage.
Plus no one is perfect, and sometimes we don't always realize what we're doing at the time.

I agree with what you said.
I wonder if those people (the ones that can't accept different generations, That some people may actually like 'Cybertron' Etc.) I wonder if people like that are like that with other stuff in their life, Or if it's just with Transformers. I imagine they're like that with everything. (I'm just guessing, But in all likelihood I think it's probable).
I think it's some sort of personality problem.
I like what I like, The next person can like whatever they like.
The last concern I have in life is that somewhere right now, Someone is gleefully watching 'Beast Machines', And caressing their Beast Machines Silverbolt action figure...

Hi kinda back.
I've been gone from here for a long time, but I thought I would trow my two cents in anyway.
I've been experiencing a few different communities, both IRL and online, and honestly, compared to some the TF community is the most level headed and the least toxic. Honestly, the worst so far is the Magic the Gathering community, especially considering that it's mainly made up of academics who you would think know better.
The TF community as a whole is far more accepting of different opinions, ways of life, cultures and sexual orientations than most other communities I've encountered.

I had no idea there was any sort of toxicity within the TF fandom, but then again, this is the only place I frequent regarding my beautiful giant alien robots.

Overall I definitely would not say the Transformers fandom is toxic. There will always be toxic people in ANY fandom. But really, that goes for any walk of life. Work in a major office, or in government, or at a university like I did, and you'll encounter plenty of toxic people hiding underneath those business suits too. I don't really buy the toxic fandom narrative in general, and feel that far too often it's been used as an intellectually lazy excuse for why ill-advised reboots of media franchises have failed. Do people act like jerks on the internet? Sure. But is that limited to fans of Star Wars, Marvel comics, Transformers, or Ghostbusters? Hell no. Just try posting a video of yourself playing with your cat or dog on social media, and if it gets more than 50 replies from people you don't know, a flame war is likely to start somewhere along the line once all the self-proclaimed dog and cat experts show up and patronizingly lecture others on how to play with/take care of their pets. Ever notice how everyone on social media is an expert on geopolitics, medicine, veterinary medicine, history, etc.?
In the age of social media, bad behavior on the internet has simply become amplified across the board - partially because so many people suffer from a tribal mindset, even when it concerns matters that are entirely non-political. This results in bad behavior towards the other tribe (i.e. those who have a different opinion or mindset) being rewarded by those of your own tribe. This mindset can be found just about anywhere you will find radically differing opinions: whether it's the economy, COVID-19, history, global warming, sports, pro-wrestling, music, video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and just about any media franchise out there. Even individual bands have divisions that split their fans into tribal factions. We live in an era where, unfortunately, far too many folks are only able to identify two kinds of people: those they agree with, and those who are moronic, subhuman scum. And somehow, the internet seems to amplify this behavior even in otherwise fairly tolerable people: at our university I've known faculty members who acted like completely normal, intelligent, and seemingly rational human beings if you had a face to face conversation with them, but on Twitter they would become extremely patronizing, abrasive jerks to anyone who dared disagree with them.
But having been part of this fandom since the mid-90s, and this particular website since the early 2000s, I'd say that compared to a lot of other fandoms (particularly the pro-wrestling fandom), Transformers fans are relatively welcoming and laid back. Will you run into the occasional jerk? Sure. But just take a walk down the block and you might run into him too. And check out any YouTube comments section, and you'll almost certainly find him.
Oh sweet summer child.
You should've been here before the advent of Facebook, when every time you refreshed there would be new posts and replies. LOTS of people, and many of them (myself included) still pretty young. This forum certainly had its share of unnecessary flame wars. But it won't be easy to find a forum of this size that hasn't.

Most TF fans are fine.seibertron and Allspark are fairly open-minded and welcoming to most people. I would just sum up the toxic side of the TF community, both in users and staff, to just one website:
