All the Androids want to do is fight and kill Goku, not go on a picnic. Sheesh! :P

People who pop in to tell you how many of the same rare figure they bought today. When they do that, I just get all like :BLACKEYE: :BLACKEYE: :BLACKEYE: :BLACKEYE: :BLACKEYE:
And how about when you open a thread to ask a serious question and the thread gets view after view after view with no response. And eventually someone responds but dodges the question. And then someone asks the same question later and gets 5 pages of responses. :BANG_HEAD:
And then there's people who ask you what you meant when you said something, but before you can explain yourself they flame you for like 5 posts in a row. (If you must add to your pointless flaming, use the edit button) and when you try to explain they're like =; and I'm like :BOOM:
(sorry for the exessive smilies but I'm bad with words and they are often just as descriptive)

First off, can I give a tip of the hat to Mr. Sledge for the wonderful Douglas Adams reference a few pages back? Bravo.

I'm pretty new around here, but I've been a TF fan for nigh-unto 21 years now. I like to think I knew my stuff before...but a lot of you guys around here have been helping me out finding all the new stuff (especially War Within, which was awesome). For all the negative things we can say about TF Fandom, I've been the beneficary of quite a bit of good-natured information sharing. So thanks to you folks who helped me broaden my TF experience. Just wanted to say that before I dove into the complaints.

1. Fans who KNOW they are wrong about a certain point (i.e.: saying Hotrod was leader before Optimus), but will all but scream in your face until you agree with them.

2. Like a few of you, I can't STAND the "I'm gonna buy five of this same figure!" collectors/scalpers. I was in Toys R Us as a guy loaded up his cart with every Classics Grimlock they had on display(NINE of them)! When I asked him if he could leave ONE so I could get one, he told me "F--- off, but it on ebay." (I snatched one out of his cart ANYWAY and repeated the ebay line right back at him, but still...)

3. "Well, in the JAPANESE version..." How many times a day do we hear this from TransFans who claim to be much bigger fans than us? Wow. So you have KISS-players toys and bootleg copies of "Masterforce" and "Victory". Good for you. Now shut up.

4. This is sort of a general, blanket statement...but since this is one of the few forums I frequent, it applies here most. It drives me nuts when people can't be bothered to...oh...check their SPELLING every once in a while. Maybe some punctuation? Grammar? The occasional use of the damned space-bar?!

5. And this is one I just found. Why steal other peoples' Transformers art and claim it as your own?! Most recent example is a guy on DeviantArt claiming that Mr. Figueroa's unused Grimlock design to be a drawing of his. What are we, stupid?! Like we're not going to KNOW you stole that art WHEN YOU FORGOT TO ERASE DON'S SIG FROM THE BOTTOM (unless Don suddenly goes by the name "Tyler")?! I know you guys said "no one by name", but this guy deserves whatever you throw at him. Here's the link:

This was something that annoyed me greatly when Armada/Energon/Cybertron was showing.

A discussion would be started regarding an episode or something and someone, EVERY time would come in and say "watch the sub of the Japanese version it's so much better".

Sorry, but when I WATCH tv I don't want to have to read it. If I want to read i'll pick up a book.

And i'm sure as hell not going to waste time reading the screen of a cheap cartoon. As such, I would like to discuss the WESTERN version. That's why the thread is entitled for the WESTERN version. But people just didn't get that ....

Whoa now. That's quite ridiculous.

It's true that everyone's annoying, yes.

Just because you don't know someone, doesn't make that someone stupid. I've seen plenty of people I don't know personally and I don't find them to be stupid.

I have to experience their moments of stupidity and see how they handle themselves before I can make any kind of a call on that.

Close minded much?

When people say "The toyline is meant for kids!" and whatever. Argghhh!! The toymakers might made them to appeal to kids, but they are equally just as happy when ADULTS buy them! Ohterwise why are there MP series and all the other "adult" toys? Or when folks try to guilttrip you by saying "But some little kid won't have that toy if you buy it!" Why are the little kids the only ones given the "rights" to buy/enjoy a toy? Why is it not frowned uppon by the parents when the kid takes a Tf out of a stranger's cart or hands, and then runs up to the checkout line? And when the person who's cart it was in originally tries to get it back, the parent(s) has the GALL to say those toys are meant for kids? I have never had any of this stuff happen, but reading the experiances by others having to endure this rude treatment by others just ticks me off. :-x

I too hate it when people do not spellcheck their posts, I know that I make alot of mistakes, but I do try my best. Bad gramma I hate also. I'm dyslexic, and while it's mainly only a problem with my spelling rather than my reading, I still stuggle through many of the badly worded posts. I do try to make an effort, I have to correct nearly every word I type, or at least think about what letter comes next, and it just irritates me when people who clearly can write without problems do not bother to try or check thier own work.

I am done now.

Wow, welcome to the pointless scalper thread from this summer. Now now, I don't mean that in a bad or condesending or sarcastic way, I mean it. All that that thread was was people crying about how some dude bought ten figures and then wanted to sell 9 of them on eBay and how immoral he was becuase he was taking these toys away from the kids. For people who were so concerned with the ability of children to get these toys, they sure were pissed they couldn't get them for themselves. That thread really got to me, becuase what the hell, you know? We collect toys. We spend money on toys, frivoulous toys, for enjoyment, and Zimbabwe (s.i.c.) has the highest inflation rate in the world.
Now I buy my toys with a clear and happy mind, and am rarely troubled by the problems of others because I have my own and my own family to pay bills for. But the scalper debate really got ugly because some people tried to pass it all off as looking out for the kids. Come on, how many 5-16 year old kids or whatever the 'age suggestion' on the package says really care about a G1 Jazz? How many kids who just got into the movie want Starscream in his original colors? To them, the movie paint job IS his original color. Those repaints are ment for us as collectors.

We collect toys, we aren't bastians of morality and since we buy toys for our collections we by definition take toys out of the hands of children. If you really are that concerned, stop collecting so all the toys go to the kids.

doSomething that drives me crazy is when people complain about a figure not being good enough (Leader Megatron) yet still hoard it, blissfully unaware of all the people who want one so desparately that they are willing to overlook those flaws.

How many times has someone said "I actually regret purchasing this" but still keep it? I want a Leader Movie Megatron but I never found one because they all got snatched up by people who did nothing but complain about it afterwards. It just isn't fair. And if they do decide to sell it, they more than double the price.

I will still love Transformers when I'm 60. I'm not ashamed of that, I'm proud. I will not change for anyone. And if it comes down to either me or a kid getting the nice shiny new Skywarp sitting on the shelf, that kid is going to be grasping for air.

I agree. I cannot get my mind around the arguement that we are taking toys away from children by being collectors. If you look and the internet for G1 figures that are still in the boxes you'll find a bunch of them. If you want a MISB G1 Dirge you can find him, but you can also find a bunch of loose G1 Dirge's, which leads me to believe that 20 years ago some person bought a Dirge to keep MISB but that the loose one means someone bought a Dirge to play with. So, someone buying one to collect doesn't mean that now a kid will be unhappy for the rest of their lives because you have a MISB Dirge.

If a child wants that Target G1 Jazz over the original movie painted one, it's probably safe to say that it's becuase the toy looks better in the G1 paint. Not like younger fans have no concept of G1 becuase goodness knows there are young fan on this board that know about G1. But toys that would serve as throwbacks to toys from 20 years ago are primarily aimed at those of us who got into the toys 20 years ago. The same with reissues, like the TRU ones from a few years back. While there's nothing that says a 10 year old wouldn't love to rip open a G1 Hoist and play with it, the target audience was those of us who remember G1 Hoist from when G1 Hoist was brand new. It's nostalgia mainly, and a toy second when it comes to reissues. I open all my reissues just for reference, but by now I think you know what I mean with all this.

people who seemingly cannot understand that each continuity is different, and that each follows its own path, not depending on any before it, and that in turn, hasbro sees none as definitive, bar the newest one it is currently making money from. except maybe the G1 continuity, as they can still milk us collectors off of that.
people who desperately cling to the one version of continuity they have chosen as the "real" Transformers, despite it since being replaced, certainly in Hasbro's eyes and more than likely in a lot of consumer's eyes too.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Well, I've been a fan for very long time now, and I love how different every generation gets and I'm open to it.

I like to respect all fans, and tend not to judge them. They have their opinions, I have mines. If we all agreed to disagree, I think we can all get along in that sense, but when that's not the case, it get's too personal, and makes me feel alienated. That's what hate.

When people find out I love Starscream and I'm a girl, I get sterotyped that I'm a nut job, ....gee thanks. I also love other topics, books, art, etc, so because my fave TF is Starscream, I don't matter as person? Well, that how it feels sometimes, now I just brush it off.

Yeah, actually, there is. I enjoy Transformers. Only thing is, I don't want to take it away from the new generation of children. It's called an opinion, and if you don't like it, too damn bad. You know, there's a few dead obvious giveaways Transformers is marketted towards kids:

1) In commercials, you have kids playing with the toys.
2) Transformers is a toyline aimed at kids.
3) You have cartoons made for the intent of marketting towards kids. Duh.
