I'm waiting on it. I bought the 3 pack Galvy; I'm going to be VERY disappointed if this is for the Darkside version. If it is .... maybe they'll do another set in a different color.

I just remembered I have a WFC Megatron all painted up in Galvatron's colors disassembled in a plastic container waiting until I regain interest in it! I'll get this set no matter what colors it is and just make it match what I've already done.
Maybe I'll try to figure out a way to beef it up more so it's on the same level as the Protector Rodimus Prime. I think that's why I stopped: too short.

I don't think it's gonna be for that set it would be a bad choice Galvatron was purple not black

I want a proper voyager Galvatron, not a one off kit deluxe. Nice idea but just too small IMO.

Henkei or United work fine for me. Or there's Hedgemon (gotta catch em all!) or one of the dozen other 3rd Party Megatrons. I'd really like a Galvatron that could face off with Protector or, if I ever get him, City Commander.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I was thinking of using this as Galvatron at one point but it just doesn't work for him I think.

What was the final word on this guy? Was this an art piece or a figure coming down the pipe?
Edit: Ah, it's apparently just a 3D render

I kinda need to see it finished before I commit. The price is decent enough though.

Hmm...I'll get it once I see what exactly it looks like. Perhaps they'll make one for both versions, the significantly easier to find TRU version or the Darkside Megatron from Japan.

Searching through older 3rd Party posts, has there been any further news on this upgrade set?
Robot Kingdom have a pre-order up (still) with a September 2012 release date.
That obviously didnt happen.

Having no insider connections to X-Transbots, I can only point to their website and say that there have been no updates for this release. It's possible they are prioritizing the release of their Ironhide/Ratchet combo, which was scheduled for release this Oct, but their site says "Fall".

Even with a purple head and chest, theres still too much grey and black on all the wrong places to be a G1 Classics Galvatron. I never understood why people dont like the deluxe version we already got. It's not perfect, but any upgrade needs to be voyager size and this isnt.

If this does enough good things for a decent price, I'm good with that. Galvatron doesn't need to be a Voyager. A larger deluxe like this would be fine for me.

Not interested in a puny Galvatron for sure. He MUST be larger than my Classics Scourge and Cyclonus... at least by a smidge. How does the WFC mold size-up with them? Don't own any WFC toys... but the FoC ones I've seen are TINY!!

Was gonna say don't worry about, I'll find something online... proved to be a little tougher than I thought. Not a single review I could find showed him next to anything other than WFC toys (not even Peaugh!?).
Actually been considering purchasing this (assuming it ever actually happens), so yeah... some size comparison next to Classics or FP items would actually be greatly appreciated.

Re: Transbot Production Galvatron Upgrade for Generations WFC Megatron
Who knows how far this one will slip. Don't they have a MP Galvaton in the works for over a year now too?
I'm closely monitoring the Ironhide/Ratchet combo they are doing since I think I might buy them. Robot kingdom said late September for that too, X-transbots said October, but with no pics of final models or packaging, I'm thinking that one is going to slip to end of the year....
They have promised/hinted at even more projects than this too...I'd say X-transbots, if they are serious about getting these out, are due for mass updates on projects soon.
Also I think WFC Megatron would look nice with classics Scourge/Cyclonus. He is a large chunky deluxe and there is a pic online where he stands at the mid point of a Classics Prime windshield chest.

Here it is. Honestly, Im not impressed. He does tower over Scourge enough to be his commander, but is the same height as Cyclonus. He has more bulk which is good. But way too much white plus blck boots to pass off as Galvatron. A purple head and chest is just not enough purple to pull off Galvatron. Not sure if the Takara or Dark versions have more purple. Even so, you would really have to appreciate the whole "neo" concept to call this figure Galvatron. And just for kicks, he's only about one centimeter taller than classics Galvatron anyways. No height advantage here...

Re: Transbot Production Galvatron Upgrade for Generations WFC Megatron
Actually... that looks surprisingly decent in size for a deluxe... not nearly as pitiful as the FoC and Prime toys which I refuse to buy. Might just have to pick him up as I do like the aesthetics very much. Now... do I buy the white Megatron, or purchase the Darkside version in hopes for a cool Galvatron upgrade? Torn... the Generations release seems too bright... while the Darkside version is a bit too dark. Both are a bit expensive at this point. *sigh*
I've seen Transbot pics using 3-different versions of this mold in their WIP shots... might just have to wait and see what they settle on complimenting.

Re: Transbot Production Galvatron Upgrade for Generations WFC Megatron
I go the 3 pack version of this from Toys R us while it was still there. I think it may make for a decent Galvatron, but I'm not totally sold on the set just yet. But it's probably good for those who think Universe Galvatron is nothing to write home about. He's signifigantly bulkier and taller enough to make a difference beside other deluxe figures.
I'd love a voyager, though. Based on G1 or the IDW comics. Until then Superlink Galvatron G is my Galvatron. And he's just as big as Hegemon. Shame about the colors, though ...
