Picked up a Takara Soundblaster at RoboCon this past weekend. He looks really nice with the cleaner chest window.
Also got the third Soundwave Spy Patrol that has Doubledealer's guys.

o.supreme wrote:Well I got my Selects Abominus today, and prepared for the worst based on some of the reviews I had seen. Surprisingly it actually holds together quite well. Everything tabs in nicely. Unfortunately it has the ratchet joints that are normally weak for a Generations Combiner, so getting it to stand is a challenge, but to be expected.
The one piece that is absolutely awful though is Cutthroats bird head. The 3 pieces (upperhead, lower jaw, and crest), will literally fall apart if you just look at them, they feel like a cheap KO. I'm not sure what happened this 2nd time. I checked my PotP Cutthroat and it was fine. Fortunately I'm keeping Abominus in combined mode, but I have to keep an eye on the shelf where he is, I wouldn't be surprised if the bird head just falls off...
I finally got around to opening mine this past weekend. Hun-Gurrr has an iffy shoulder ratchet on one side, but it doesn't really affect the combined mode too much. I can't get Selects Abominus to stand any better than I could the PotP version, which is a shame, but I love the touches Takara put on this set, like the new combiner hands and feet, which are the best combiner hands and feet yet, the animation accurate touches, like the new chest piece and the purple helmet. It's also nice that the hands and feet are all the same color now. It's also nice to be rid of the stickers on Hun-Gurr. I'm glad to have upgraded, as I will always differ to the more animation accurate version, but that's not everyone's preference, and I don't think the altered molds and accessories are enough to make this a "must buy" if the deco isn't a clear upgrade for someone.

Re: Transformers Generations SELECTS Series Discussion
I took a look inside my Hun-Gurrr and I can see that the white hollow square piece with the triangle notch that does the ratcheting isn't strong enough. It bends. The chest is held together with pins so it's hard to take apart. If only I could find a way to insert something like a small piece of plastic in there to strengthen that piece. Or something to raise it up from underneath. It's disappoining because I love the Terrorcons.

I suspect the same is happening with my copy on the one shoulder. The joint has a little wiggle room or play no matter what notch it’s on. It’s more of of a “soft” or squishy ratchet than the satisfying “click” the opposite shoulder has.

Cool to know I'm not the only one here who got Abominus. Just curious if you all had the same issue with Cutthroats bird head as I do?

Cutthroat’s head is better on the new Selects release than on the original PotP release for me. It works so long as you don’t try to move anything the wrong way.

For those wondering where the Centurion Drone weapons pack stock went, it seams, Amazon Mexico got a batch. Currently on sale for about $25 USD.
User warning, not sure it will want to ship outside of Mexico however.

To embed a video on the board, you can use the YouTube tags, plus the Youtube Video ID tag, which is the part coming after "v="
I tried that but it's not working.

Your mistake was that you pressed "enter" for some reason after the code.

Ok, thanks! I fixed it.
Thing is, I was trying to do that for like 15 minutes & I didn't hit enter every single time. I did have it all together with no spaces but it still wouldn't work for some reason.

Were you posting from your phone?
Because phone shenanigans can happen with over-enthusiastic auto-corrects and whatnots.

Has “Galactic Man” Shockwave been repurposed as a new character or a new form of Shockwave (like Soundwave to Soundblaster) in any official fiction? I feel like Takara would pull such a move, but I don’t know if they even got that Selects release in their markets.

No, unfortunately Shockwave was one of those characters that was originally a non Takara toy, so he wasn't seen in Headmasters or any other series. An updated Shockwave would have been awesome, but it never happened.

I understand he was talking about GM the toy, but I understood him as asking for a reason why TT might release it, if there had been a change to Shockwaves character in any fiction, to which the answer is no.

Shockwave could generate gray-colored duplicates of himself in the Devastation video game.
