Friendly reminder that this is Selects, so neither of these things are gonna happen, it's just gonna be a repaint using the presumably pre-tooled alternate head.SpaceEagle wrote:I mean heck I remember Studio Series Grindor being a minor redeco of Blackout but used the opportunity to retool the hands, this doesn't really seem that wild to get a new Pointblank soon that'll address the articulation issue. I personally didn't find it that bad but, hey, if they wanna make an update on that mold and are confident it'll sell, why not? Maybe the price point might even chuck in the engine gun as originally planned too.

Those colors are really nice, and I think the fact that this isn't actually Omega himself helps me kinda get over my constant bewilderment and frustration with the G1 Omega alt "mode", but I'm not dropping that much money on a repaint that I still don't actually like the alt mode of. Maybe if it went on sale, but it'd have to drop quite a bit for me to pounce (and considering Pulse temporarily sold out, I don't know that it actually last in enough quantities to go on sale).

The more I look at Guardian Robot, the more I want him. But man, 300$CAN...
I'll not be preordering, but if I see it live at my local GameStop, and with my Edge Card, I wouldn't be able to resist.
Edit the day after:
Well, I went to GameStop and I had to ask them to set one aside for me. This way, I'll have 19% off with my Edge.
He, Omega, and Skylinx, plus the Space set will make for one kick-ass display!
Release date set for April 1st.
Can't I'll have to wait.

Oh my. Guardian robot is awesome. I so want two of these to flank Omega Supreme. Pre-ordered, but not sure I can afford these two. Well, guess I will wait and see. Very cool though. That Jazz is super sweet as well. Se;ects cpntinues to be great stuff fairly regularly.

I like the design of this big guy, but not enough to buy it. I wasn't enough of an Omega Supreme fan to pick it up the first time around. I don't see me dropping coin for his generic step-brother.

Siege Omega was neat, and one time he was on sale on BBTS for a pretty good, he did tempt me. Didn't have any Titans at the time and the novelty of *big robot* was appealing. Ultimately didn't get him and at full retail, probably won't get Guardian either unless the stars align. The white and blue does look crisp and really adds to the rocket ship theme

I think in one of Hound's original bios he was described as a tracker and able to "sniff out" decepticons. I never noticed if they included that trait in the cartoon, though. And the only tf I have with a headband is shattered glass Soundwave but he didn't quite fit for me. I think I considered Kup or Ironhide as well but chose to stick with Hound

Re: Transformers Generations Selects Series Discussion
The pricing on Guardian Robot doesn't mesh with the usually excuses. He's a repaint of a figure that had been $120 at original release, and even accounting for the ridiculous amount of inflation we've had over the last couple of years, his current price tag is too high.

That will be the price of titans from then onward. If you don't have FOMO, you can always wait a bit to see if it will be on sale.
On my end, I FOMO'd hard, plus I could secure my Guardian Robot for 15$CAN less than if I'd luck out in buying it live at a GameStop. It ain't much, but at least on top of that chump change saved, I'm sure to have mine.
As for the next REGULAR titan, I'll definitely wait for a sale, or dump some old stuff at my local geek store. I don't think there will be another Scorponok case unless WW3 break out or something.

Omega was $160 at retail, and now Titans are $200. It is the class price point now. Same way they are still doing Siege sideswipe repaints for $25 when that mold was $20 at initial release.

I still haven't bought Omega Sentinels because I cant justify the price. Since I just don't think I would want one, I want two flanking Omega Supreme. But buying two would be a bit over 400$. Not exactly a good troop builder for a poor guy.

Troop building would be overkill but I bought at least one.
If I ever get a second one, it would be because of a sale, or because I could dump some stuff at my local geek store as store credit.

I can justify the price (though I have no interest in army building), but haven't bought one just because I'm hoping for discounts like Black Zarak had.

Re: Transformers Generations Selects Series Discussion
I was going to skip Guardian Robot entirely, but now that we've seen the War Dawn pack I'm on the fence. I have last year's two-pack and a squadron worth of tetrajets, so a Cybertronian titan makes sense to bring on board. I'm planning to wait for a 30% discount, though, and if that doesn't happen then I'll be okay without one.

You'll need LOTS of room though. I had to do some severe re-arranging and the low table I bought to put in front of the TV is too narrow for 3 titans and 2 inches too tall for the base mode because of the rocket. I put my upgraded Black Zarak there and I'll have to revert his long legs for his original shorts one!
Now, for May to arrive so that I can finally get my second Guardian.
Oh, interestingly enough, no

I'm anticipating even more my second GR!
I also accidentally discovered that the main "tower" can be reversed.
Oh, and one more thing that I afore with Guardian Robot when having it in hand. His color scheme is the same as the old Space Lego from my childhood. And he fit the theme.

Because I reorganized my spaces due to the Supremes, BZ had to move. G1 Fortmax work well on that new low table that I bought but BZ was way too tall because of his full DNA Designs upgrades. So I had to downgrade his legs back to their original size.
I messed up a ratchet part in the teal block of his right thigh. I replaced it with some spare part that I customized. It's not perfect, but it work.
Now BZ's height is relatively level with the bottom of my TV screen. Plus I love the fact that he's the same height as Fortmax.

I thought I had room for 3 Titans on that table...
BZ and G1 Fortmax are pretty MASSIVE in their vehicle mode.
Wait... Fortmax's vehicle modevis just the bot sleeping, about to wake up with a morning wood.

As a general rule of thumb, I've bought 3/4 Titan Class/City Bots on sale @ £99. To me, that was reasonable. For their size, articulation doesn't really matter. They are too big to interact with anything beyond being an elaborate display stand for other figures (as my City Bots are). That said, Omega, Ark, Guardian and even Nemesis. Much like Black Zarak, I'm not invested in the characters to buy them at these prices. Animated Omega (being the best of both worlds: Ark + Omega) and even Spreem. They might turn my head, due to their novelty. But as I don't see either on the horizon. I'll stick with the four default Cities. One day, I might even have space to get Metroplex and Scorponok out of their boxes too.
