transformers on mars? (SPOILER?)

in the first trailer we saw..and in the movie, they talk about the mars rover thing. the transformers are from cybertron..not mars, so why are they on mars when the rover lands?

If you read the prequal comic, you would know that the robots on Mars was Starscream and the Decepticons heading towards Earth.

oooh alright. i didnt read that, and i wont be soo i didnt know. i thought it would just be them heading to earth but you never know. thanks for clearing that up.

This may the only film (I can think of off hand) that used the teaser trailer as ACTUAL film footage.
